Needs another option: Have to get it because the companies force us to.

I am a no case person. But companies make phones fragile deliberately so that I am left with no other choice.

Try using an IPhone 7 - Jet Black color without a case and you will understand why it is necessary to is a case/cover. Until manufactures make the Smartphones scratch proof , we need the case.

Dual layer protective cases and tempered glass screen protectors have saved my last 2 phones, both dropped onto concrete and zero damage.

the worse aspect, with the trend of bezelless frame and more glass, as oppose to protective bezels, chances of more recent phones becoming damages is more likely than older phones

a decent protective case (it doesn't have to look ugly or bulky either) will save you the cost of repairs on most occasions, generally ones made from TPU will offer the best protection, the fact that gorilla glass is not indestructible means that there is always a good chance of cracking your phone when dropped.

Removes the case if your phone is over 5 years old. A great excuse to buy a new phone once it 'accidentally' dropped and broken. Lol.

Thats why it would be better if the back plate is removable and interchangeable.

                          You get the leather back.
You get the wireless charging back.
You get the extended battery back.
                          You get the glass back.

Soo many to choose, just like swatch.

Alex, 05 Aug 2018Why do you want a tiny bezel? For the look. Why do you want... moreNo No No..You got it a bit mixed up there..Let me shine the truth:
Why do you want a tiny bezel? I want a tablet in a smartphone body!
Why do you want a shiny phone? To show off the look since shiny = brand new.
Why do you want a glass back? So it can easily crack & my wallet gets thinner, yay!
And when finally you pay $1000 for the look, you put the phone in a case, and you lost all the look. So, why did you pay $1000? Cuz Ima baller and I just walk up in the mall and I buy the whole store!

                            xD

A case is like a roof over your head - if you don't have one, you'll always be exposed to the inevitable.

Its a shame Paul and Yordan don't understand that.

Also, Paul, if you say cases are like clothes - basically unnecessary, how come you're not bringing a movement of change upon this world being totally naked and exposed?

Last but not least, Yordan. I fully agree with you on your say about durable phones, but unless we have some revolution, durable phones will take a very very long time before they reach our hands but in regards to considering our values - our mental state, being overly protective and constantly stressed over a bunch of semiconductors of our financial well-being - You now say to not worry - let phones be pretty and enjoy them and also try not to drop them, it's not that hard. Are you really saying people should not be overly protective of something when it is a basic human instinct to be of such behavior?

In conclusion; When you're going to have a child someday, you're going to take all that back in a heartbeat.

Yuri84, 05 Aug 2018My last phone, LG G2, had no protective case, no protective... moreThat Active range is what I've been dreaming of handling too. I've seen S4 and S5 Actives here in the Philippines but I've forgotten about them after the waterproof S6s already appeared. Looks like the active line's waterproof advantage didn't matter.

Until I saw the S8 active last year on reviews online. Dang that was a beast too! I want to own one but sadly that model being available on AT&T meant it had too much bloatware to handle. :(

Oh well, we can't have anything I guess.

You know, both have a point.

I keep my phones tucked neatly inside cases when I'm out.
But when handling the phone in the safety of my home (over the rug, on the bed) I just remove the case and enjoy the view, the original grip and so.. it's a whole 'nother experience, like holding a new phone and loving it again :)

No one can be 100% sured that he will not drop his phone accidentally. Your heart will get hurt when you see you phone is damaged, especially it's a new phone. You will get mad and feel regretful for not having a case.
