You know HTC built the first Android phone, but did you know it also built the first Xperia phone? As an ODM, HTC didn't get the recognition it deserved.

          i've been using HTC phone for quite a while now. I was surely impressed with G1 that made me switchover to HTC phones from Symbian. I had Hero, Desire HD, One Xl and E8. I adored each and everyone of them. I don't want HTC to crumble. It's just sad that being innovative as well as first didn't help them and that who ever next dirtied their hands in the same field got success. Makes me sad.

                  Nowadays it's too hard to compete with Chinese brands. And also all the phones are getting so similar - android (at least some brands changing it) and no bezels (basically you can see just screen).

                    If HTC is put on sale, which company do you guys prefer to be the savior (or the undertaker instead )?
                    Google, Qualcomm, Samsung, Asus, Verizon, Microsoft, Amazon, or Apple.? Or someone else??

                      Can't deny that HTC pioneered what mobile UI's are today. Its Sense UI was way ahead of its time, and nothing short of amazing on the best mobile operating system ever developed, Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional.

                        Just do your own thing again, HTC!
                        Don't follow those trends. Your unique innovations really followed other companies until now.

                              I miss the old HTC and am sick and tired of the current U.S. smartphone duopoly of Samsung and Apple. Currently, the only thing they got right was VR. The Vive is singlehandedly keeping that company alive. But bad leadership and poor marketing killed the old HTC. My favorite phones ever were HTC devices. It's so depressing to see the condition the company is in now.

                                HTC, you can still do it!
                                It's never too late for anyone to try. We believe in you, and mind the haters as they're just afraid that your great quality products will destroy their own beloved brands.

                                  Long live HTC... good companies never dies. Remember Nokia :)

                                    I still have my Diamond and HD2. I remember vividly refreshing GSMArena's page repeatedly the night before the HD2 was unveiled and I have never done that to a phone since. Truly the first big screen (4.3in!! back in 09) phone to come out with minimal bezels, 1ghz snapdragon so undoubtedly the hype was real. Two of the GOATs that really opened my eyes to the world of smartphone - or at least at its infancy - before this little thing called 'Android' came along. As much hate and scorn as I give them for in recent time, it's just like how parents would discipline their kids, only because they really want them to succeed.

                                    I'm sure old-schoolers like me would like to see HTC rise from the dead (and let's be frank, they're done like a steak that's been cooked on high for an hour), but with failed restructuring after restructuring and empty promises, it would make more sense for someone who see the potential and pioneering in HTC and take them under their wings.

                                    Like a genius growing up in a broken household, HTC simply need that guidance and leadership to restore them back to their former glory. ODM or OEM, it would truly saddens me to see HTC fades completely from our smartphone consciousness.

                                        I feel bad for HTC, but at the same time, they're making too many dumb decisions with their phones now. There's a reason that people aren't buying them.
