It is a common mistake to think that Google and Samsung canceled the event post Jobs death... this is not true, the event was canceled prior to the news of Jobs death.

It was probably canceled due to new iPhone being 4S and not 5.

It's about hype and ego. You can allways find excuses in fact that some statistically substantial amount of users use iPhone in all of its possibilities, which are at least fair - but that's not the real issue. The real issue is that Apple primarily produces style of using something, form without substance. Substance exists, but only as an alibi. Knowing you can do something doesn't have any thing do to with actually doing something. iPhone is primarily about very simple tasks, and that's why it is so popular, but it has a catch: users must think (and have proof) that they can do complicated tasks.

I think power users will allways choose Android instead of iPhone, because it's designed for power users. iPhone is designed for IT iliterate, providing only basic functions that makes you look cool using it, which is OK by me. It's just not real power-using.

Choosing one phone does not make someone a geek or an idiot as some of you are claiming... On the other hand it just shows your desire to be classified as a geek which you are not... Its ok if you are happy with Android but that does not automatically make those who do not have the same choice as you a fool...

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Google are extremely happy that some of the most powerful comms devices in the world currently run on their OS (Windows Phone? All the same.. Apple? Great phone, but it's the software that really makes it good.. or kills it for some people), but hasn't really been Google that has been pushing it forward. That is until now, with the Prime / Galaxy Nexus / Whatever. This phone's going to set the bar, so let's hope ICS can tame all that power under the hood.

For me, I would find that on WP7 I think. But why not on Android if a phone with really good quality build and pretty interface is out. Motorola Spyder/Razr ?

jay, 14 Oct 2011kicking apple out of the race in smartphones era..You don't understand Apple do you? While the Android community keeps going on about how powerful this phone is going to be Apple sold 1 million phones by pre order in 24 hours. Yes Apple have taken the own sweet time with having a dual core phone but at least its running something that needs it. They are not interested in puting more and more tech in a phone if effects performance meaning battery life or of it effects ease of use. That's why as of yet there is not a LTE iPhone since it has battery issues. Microsoft seem to be following the same path at the moment its pointless to have a dual core phone for them the OS does not need it. I doubt most Apple people care one bit about dual core chips or even know what it is they just want and I stress smooth operation. Which for all my Android loving ways it is.

Powerfull hardware, big screen, lots of customization possibilities - it all matters when you actually USE SMARTPHONE for what's smartphones are made for. Apple users don't use anything for real - they enjoy the fact that they have the POSSIBILITY of using things and that this possibility comes with high-style, for showing off and for ego-trips. iPhone users are really busy counting things that COULD do with all those milions of apps, and they think that smooth sliding with your fingers on screen is actually using something, so they conclude that iPhone "just works". Of course it works, when "work" is only an illusion behind possibility to work.
