If you think the Kirin 980 built on the new 7nm fabrication process is going to compete with a 1 year old SD 845 built on the older 10 nm process - you are dreaming. There were already some initial benchmarks out of China, indicating that the AnTuTu 7 score the Kirin 980 achieved was close to 390,000 --- Where does the SD 845 figure in this equation...?!

if huawei maintains running mali g72 mp24 at 746mhz, it does make a big diff, especially if it runs on standard mali g72 850mhz.
but mali g72 mp24 just a rumours at the moment. but maybe it also true cuz huawei's already has gpu turbo on malig72, if use malig76, maybe they need time to make a new gpu turbo for it.
nevertheless,i still hope that it use mali g76 mp16 insted.

Not sure about the 18-core variant in Samsung devices but remember this will be 7nm rather than 10nm, so most likely more power efficient and better on thermals.

Lol Mali didn't bother making G73 this time. With China loving AMD recently, I wished AMD/Radeon Technologies Group would make a Vega Mobile GPU for that SOC.
With 7nm, it should have more wafer space for eight or twelve more G72 cores.
