Of course there will be compromise. But for performance purists, this is incredible thing. I've ever been their hardcore fans but suddenly Pixel ruined it by raising my childhood dream of having any GOOGLE branded physical products.

Why they think that Android people would enjoy some Apple stuff on their phones ?

Display is a major part of smartphones and Xiaomi does compromise on that. I bought a Redmi Note 5 Pro and it has the stupid image retention or screen burn-in issue which I noticed on my Redmi Note 4 a year later. One thing should be understood by everyone, quality is always compromised to keep the prices low. I liked Xiaomi products but after Note 4 screen drop, have come to terms with their quality. To change the display, entire assembly needs to be ripped apart. You get what you pay. They have surely shipped the best units (with better displays) to reviewers on YouTube but there will be problems for end consumers.

Other than that the phone works well, it's a shame though phone reviews failed to see this issue with xiaomi phones. They seem to compromise on screens to make price lower.

Either Sammy overprices their products or Xiaomi scrimps on theirs to sell it this cheap.
Surely the screen has something to do with it. And maybe the camera as well.

Whackcar, 22 Aug 2018Here are 2 big reasons why this phone is not a good buy.
... moreAll phones should be built with high grade metallic plastic composites due to the fewest compromises when it comes to signal reception, weight and durability.
Glass does not enhance nothing but only adds liability as it's easy to break and it introduces more cost as it requires a case in order to not end up shattered. Metal body is easily dent prone, warms up very quick and suffocates antenna's transmittance. Glass and metal are played purely on sense of touch and psychological idea that you perceive higher quality material in your hand.
This popcorn F1 is most likely being built out of the cheapest plastic ever so it doesn't count. Display will also be crap.

Someone Else, 22 Aug 2018Obviously not everyone is going to get a bad display panel.... moreYou could say that. I've seen some Redmi note 3 phones with slight yellowish tint than mine, can't argue with that.
As for note 5 pro(the one I'm using) it's considered as one of the overpriced Redmi phones in fanbase (not like it is anyway), but I don't think Xiaomi will cut costs in display. They will probably use the same LCD as rn5p

nik.007, 22 Aug 2018Just type any mobile device name with any kind of issue on ... moreI'm not being salty. I would love to own a Pocophone for the value they give. And I absolutely love my Mi A1. But that guy was accusing me of never owning a Xiaomi phone. He also accused me of making a fake statement, that I was making all that up because I'm a salty fan. I was only referring to xiaomi about the image retention because that was based on my personal experience. Image retention is real, and it's a sign of a low quality LCD, and you wouldn't notice it because it will repair it self after a few hours. But that's a compromise some companies make to produce low cost smartphone, and I highly doubt Xiaomi uses a high-quality LCD on a $300 SD 845 smartphone.
PS: you just making up all those fake statistic/percentage

You have to understand 90% people write on the internet only when they are not satisfied.
If they sell over 10mn units, their will be a lakh threads for complaints, but that's just 1% of devices sold.
I am in India where you see a Xiaomi device with almost every third person (including me). And there are no complaints with most of them.
My city has almost equal no. of Xiaomi & Samsung service centres, and I recently had to visit both of them in the same locality (coincidentally both visits were during working days and both were around the same time in noon). Xiaomi's had almost a third the no. of people than Samsung's.
