could somebody please explain how any of samsungs products look anything like apples products, i think it is the other way around (i.e. drop down bar on new Iphone 4s)

[deleted post]Apple didn't sue any PC makers eventhough they clearly have a bunch of design patents related to the Mac. Ever wondered why? It's because there was nothing to sue about. All of them looked and functioned differently from the Mac and competed fairly for consumers.
If Samsung had been a fair competitor in the phone and tablet industry, there would also be nothing to sue about. Apple might not even be as successful as they are today if Samsung (or any other manufacturer as a matter of fact) had come up with something completely different and revolutionary to challenge the iPhone and iPad.

Clearly, all these patent infringement lawsuit is Apple's way of avoiding competitions.I wonder, how come a very "intuitive" company such as Apple is very reluctant to competitions.. I wonder..

So you also agree that Apple has patents that other companies are using without licensing them. This is known as infringement. If Apple does not want to license them then hey, that's just too bad now, isn't it? Samsung should have moved on and produce something which they can patent instead of wasting everyone's time and money getting sued due to their own ignorance.

mmm..as much as samsung/google is trying not to get in trouble with apple with the design, they should at least thought of a more attractive design..just my opinion though...cause i think it looks ugly..im sure more people would be happier with their SGS II now..

I am sure that apple can see what others can't, and award them a "patent infringement" on something no one can think of, such as... shape of phone, or the fact that a phone is to be held by the hand.

Way to go GSMARENA. That of many things was far from the most obvious or possible meanings.
How about Samsung is tired off Apple's crap and didn't want to leave any leeway for them to try and force their way in with another unjust lawsuit.
Anyway. Watch out Samsung. Next Apple will move from winning injunctions of the Tab being slender with rounded edges to the phones as well.

if one company doesn't fight for patent, they might as well shoot themselves. not only are you throwing away millions of dollars spent on R&D (yes, microelectronics design isn't cheap--the design tools alone cost about a million per license), you are also letting the competition use your own design to compete (even kill) your own products in the market. Then, you throw away the millions you deserve to receive for the "crime" from your competitor.

Sigh, another who copy who arguments.. apple copy windows taskbar idea for their osx dock, while microsoft copy the trash can from apple and called it recyle bin. Anything wrong with that?. That's human nature. People will learn from someone/something and make it better. hmm.. maybe Motorola should take legal action to all other manufactures as they made the first handheld cellphone.

excuses..if people wants apple products then then buy iPhone.if samsung then buy samsung.it doesnt really matter if they look a like.to me i want to buy a phone i like,wether apple or etc.Apple making so many excuses here.makes no sense
