I hope the HTC Desire HD will get 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade before the holiday season otherwise I'm jumping ship. I like the specs for 4.0 and can't wait until it's available but if HTC & Vodafone take the time releasing the update I'm happy to dump Vodafone & HTC and go with another carrier to get the latest device running 4.0

ICS upgrade should be available for the devices that are powerful enough , as in the processor speed must be at least 1ghz or lesser (if that's good enough) and few other specifications . Incredible S and desire s are not old phones as they were just released this year , which is Feb 2011 . And it was available to be purchased only by April 2011 . So , organization must provide ICS update for all the phones that are worthy enough , as they all deserve to taste the Ice cream sandwich .

HTC you really need to lift your game. Samsung/ Apple are upgrading all their software while HTC doesnt care about their current customers. I have a HTC desire and the software is crap. No updates for it and no support. What is the point of keeping the HTC. I might as well go somewhere else. Sorry to say but my next phone wont be a HTC as long as they treat their customers like that.

AnonD-24543, 20 Oct 2011Jee, you seem like you are jealous of Samsung Mobiles!
Met... moreI think you need to check your facts a bit. I've weighed both the sensation and the Galaxy S2 and there is 13grams difference. Both flagship phones from HTC and Samsung or were at least.
Drop both and expect it to not be the same after, if you have a tendancy to drop your phone on concrete, in water...your drink..get a Motorola Defy.

z, 20 Oct 2011Sense suck. For over a year now and they still havent fix t... morethen why did you buy an HTC? you can obviously afford to choose seeing as HTC don't exactly have the cheapest models out there.. but i get the feeling you'll find something to complain about no matter what phone you get..

AnonD-27013, 20 Oct 2011Now what do HTC Incredible S owners have to expect from this ? I'm wondering the samething. I mean why buy a phone to have it be out of date in the matter of a few months?

Honestly, ICS is enough of an advancement that it might well be pointless to update a lot of phones. I wouldn't mind seeing ICS on my N1. But I'm not holding my breath for it.
ICS would work well on a phone without buttons and something with a larger screen. That requires a whole new line of phones. Putting ICS on a phone like the Nexus One or HTC Desire would be pointless. The system buttons and the Google search bar would take up a lot of room.

They should only allow Phones with a dual core to upgrade. It would draw a firm line in the sand for those silly enough to be buy the older phones. Never understood why people would argue how their Desire S or HD is 'sooo good' and they are glad they just bought it 'last week' then they complain that the Galaxy S2 and variants seem to get all the 'good' upgrades first. LOL.

Uh oh, here we go again with the Official Annual "Will my device" Android Fanboy Rants 5th edition. Expect to see fanboys crying and saying such things as:
1. Will my G1 get ICS? I just can't make t if it doesn't.
2. COME ON HTC!!! UPDATE MY EVO to ICS or I'll leave (as if HTC really cares).
3. HTC better upgrade my Hero to ICS or they'll lose a "Loyal" customer (when people use the word "Loyal" when describing a company or its products, it just proves how much of a drone they are to the company).
4. HTC suxxors now!!! Samsung All the way!!(when the person saying it has been using nothing but HTC phones since the G1 and the second HTC comes out with an ICS phone, they'll buy it again day 1)
5. My original Mytouch better get ICS or I'm going to email HTC (as if they'll really read each and every email that comes through)
6. Lets all start an online petition to get HTC to update our Wildfire to ICS!!! Come on Wildfire fans!!!
etc.
Now lets just sit back and watch. Bring a Snickers bar because it's going to be a long day. Android, get ready because here they come (Again).

Let me get one thing straight, I have a lot of respect for, Samsung as much as I do for HTC.
The comment form HTC is rather vague and does not confirm which device will or will not get 4.0. Going by the reports from google who claim any 2.3 device is eligible for the upgrade, and Sony Ericsson saying all their 2011 phones will get ICS, I am fully confident that devices such as Incredible S and Desire S/HD can handle 4.0.
As for the point on Samsung, I believe they make great phones, just as HTC do (HTC is my preferred choice, but that's down to my opinion). However it's just rather pathetic in the manner in which a select few (and I do mean few), Samsung owners react to certain comments.
Cheers
