There's a history  of $300 flagships that shook up the market. Is the Poco the latest chapter in that or a dud?

Among Android brands the one who has big marketshare in budget and mid-range segment will rule the world. Xiaomi have done this consistently for at least last couple of years.

By introducing Pocophone they will get more marketshare. This will make the about to get released mobiles between $280 to $360 unnoticeable.

The only relaxing news for Oppo, Vivo and Samsung is that this mobile will be available in batches only through online flash sale.

    it sell cheaper because they dont care about earn money from smartphone but does not mean everyone like apple,samsung or another need to follow compare to another brand still a lot different haha

S9 is also really cheap with € 540 or S9 + with € 630. I think the higher prices are more noticeable to those buying right at the release, except for the iPhone X which is still expensive after a year, but the next gen won't bring that much new stuff to the table, so it will be easier to manufacture and should become cheaper in less time. Of course, it's all through 3rd party resellers.

          I remember that in 2016 there was LeTV which proposed the Le Max 2 with brand new snapdragon 820 for 290 € and also Lenovo with the Zuk Z2 for the same price.

          Too bad LeTV is gone and Zuk did not bring a flagship with snapdragon 845...

            Absulutely hot!

              If Xiaomi releases Android One version of this phone, then Google will find it difficult to sell it's Pixel siblings.

              Anyway, for those who argue about NFC and IP ratings, should understand that this just first phone and Xiaomi is testing the waters. Next iteration of this will be surely take care of NFC and IP ratings, and that too at an affordable tag.

                Xiaomi deserves to be respected. Their phone is completely a new venture in terms of resources put in. Yet it is affordable.

                One+ simply picks up designs of it's siblings OPPO VIVO and brands them ( with changed SoC and few things here and there) as premium flagship killer.Their products actually should cost much less, by the way of shared resources it has. It doesn't deserve to be respected. One+ 6 is hyped as - designed by one+. But if we see One+6T, it will be nothing but rebranded OPPO phone. Yet it will claim it to be original and charge up the tag.

                  Pocophone F1 is a great phone but to beat OnePlus it needs NFC, some type of water resistance, updates that are fast and a better camera than OP. Wish the kevlar version of Poco came with wireless charging and ip certification.

                    Oneplus came into business with motto FLAGSHIP KILLER, but as like every other brand once it got name for itself they hiked the price not as much as big brands but still a considerable amount.

                    Now Pocophone F1 "Master of Speed" gets the tagline from Oneplus as The Real Flagship Killer!

Can you imagine Sony, HTC, Samsung, Apple, Motorola, and LG freaking out because there's a $300 phone with darn good specs outselling them? I really wish they would make one with your basic LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/9/12/13/17/20/25/26/28/38/39/40/41/66 and basic GSM and CDMA2000 1xEV-D0 for US and EU markets and make it unlocked to really make those bigger brands re-think their pricing.

                                        The BEST mobile for the price and spec. Unmatched so far. OP6 will have tough time as well in the future of POCOP adopts similar tactics
