Whackcar, 09 Sep 2018Yeah it is an overrated feature that eats up your battery (... moreApple is bringing some new stuff to know where burn-ins are and then dynamically correct for them. It will be very useful in the future, it can happen sooner than we expect. Think of how the lockscreen grew to be the most important screen for many users, its only 2 years ago that android fans demanded everything to be possible form lockscreen, they basically wanted phones that never had to be unlocked. The always-on screens will go through a similar hype, soon feature-addicted people will be screaming for options to reply texts and emails form the always-on screen, options where maps will automatically come up, you name it and people will ask for it, burn-in correction will be a must-have on every amoled phone.

Paper-spec readers like you who go on and on about how much RAM is right and how many cores one need dont care about real life performance.
Some more reasonable people are asking why android havent seen any real life performance gain from 4 to 6GB, and from 6 to 8GB.

The base model iPhone Xs needs to have 4 GB of RAM and ProMotion or it's a no-go for me. Bad enough it has a glass rears, no headphone jack, no in-display Touch ID, no split-view, no PiP, and USB-C hasn't replaced Lightning Connector yet.
Basically, try to match the specs of an iPad Pro released 18 months ago! If it has ProMotion but still only has only 3 GB of RAM, forget about it! My iPhone SE does have two strips of glass on the top and bottom like the 5-series had. I really don't like the feel of it compared to matte aluminum. Grippier? Yes. Stickier? Yes.
Apple Watch Series 4 might steal the show. I really do want to measure my heart rate and glucose levels. Been health conscious as of late. Another iPhone is like another MCU and Star Wars film. Will forever be around long after we're dead.

If you are gonna think Apple is gonna launch a big “bang” phones like it did during Steve jobs ‘s time , well the good days are over for them . These days they are all about profits , it’s time to use some logic thinking , if you took away a headphone jack , a fingerprint sensor, the two most useful feature which should see some reduction in its selling price , instead it gets pricey every single year.and yet they do not add in a fast charger adapter inside the entire sales package , they are outright overcharging us the user.

Always on... moreYeah it is an overrated feature that eats up your battery (even 1% per hour is too much IMO, as it brings down the overall endurance per day) & it also caused burn-ins on OLED panels (which is practically every flagship phone these days).
I prefer the good old notification LED to remind me of notifications. Way more practical.

Forgot to type Max after iPhone Xs. I believe Apple will go back to the numerics next year.
Every time I see the Xc in red, it looks sexier and sexier. I think of Joan (Christina Hendricks) from Mad Men. I want THAT. Too bad Apple pulled off a Microsoft and skipped the number 9 completely. The iPhone 9 name was a true abortion. Never had a chance to live.
As much as I find the red Xc really tempting, I also think it would be redundant having it if I also had the gold Xs. The gold Xs is really what I want. I don’t want a phone larger than the iPhone X.
iPhone Tennis/Excess it is.

I expect phones with mid-level specs, sold at flagship prices, claimed to be budget models. And all the Apple fans who spent USD 800 on a phone one year ago will spend the same USD 800 this year again, so they can have a better life.

21 different models.
For my eyes, the best design will always be the space gray iPhone SE. I'm biased as hell since it's the only iPhone I own right now but it doesn't have the chamfered edges like the 5s. I had the slate 5 before and the space gray 5s/SE. The 4/4s are beautiful but it started this glass-rear trend I hate.
From my experience with iPhone for 10 years, the only iPhones worth getting is the iPhone 2G, 4s, 5s, 6s, SE, 7 Plus, and X. I prefer the s-models the best. Always go for the stronger twin. The 4s aged way better than the 4 with 7x stronger GPU. My launch day 4 stuttered and lagged just playing Candy Crush and Subway Surfers!
Design fades. Performance lasts. If Xs comes with 4 GB RAM minimum and ProMotion 120Hz, it's a green light for me. The X is equal to the iPhone 4, 5, and 6. People bought it for new design. Shallow reasons. Those age worse...
The 4 had a weak GPU and had Antennagate. The 5 lacked Touch ID and had Scuffgate. The 6 Plus had only 1 GB RAM and had Bendgate. What matters is what's inside. The refinements after a year. Not into the tick. Notice the s-models aren't plagued with - gate issues as much. Rock with the tock.
Best iPhone designs ever -
5/5s/SE
4/4s
2G
X/Xc/Xs
The rest suck. Hated the 3G/3Gs glossy plastic backs and 6-series design which includes the 7. The matte black 7 (non-Plus) is nice though. Too bad high radiation. The 8/8 Plus is underrated but nowhere near the top. The 5c was no doubt the ugliest iPhone ever made. The 10c at least looks decent enough to be the poor man's Xs.
Gold Xs
Red Xc
Looking good. Now just hope Face ID is improved and doesn't suck in Gen 2. By iPhone 11 next year, hope Touch ID returns as in-display and USB-C becomes standard.

The Verge just broke the news calling the cheapest ones, iPhone Xc. I guess c stands for cheap (or crap or compromise) and not color. First iPhone c-model since the 5c. The iPhone 5c is regarded the worst iPhone ever.
I would only get the Xc because it comes in red while the Xs only adds gold. And I would also only get it from a BOGO deal too. I still prefer the size of the X/Xs. Yku might as well pay the extra $100 for the Xs. Why experience the iPhone 10(compromise)?
Again, the best time to get iPhone the cheapest is around November. You can either end up with a BOGO deal or $300+ worth of gift cards. The early adopters are either scalpers or get used as guinea pigs. The later builds are improved from all the bugs.
You pay extra for iPhones but you get the extra in longevity and resale. Try using an iPhone 4s vs Galaxy S2 in 2018. I guarantee the 4s likely aged better right before the iOS9 updates. Frame rates usually stay consistent with iOS.
I'll see how this plays out 3 days to 2+ months from now. I'm not really jumping for joy for a new iPhone. I haven't done that since 2010. The 10c seems like a tossaway iPhone to use and perhaps too redundant.
If I don't see a good BOGO deal, I'll just get the battery for my SE replaced. Last me another two more years. Still fast and fluid on iOS10 after 15+ months and battery hasn't degraded much. Won't ruin perfection.

Always on display on OLED is just asking for trouble. I hope Apple does not go that path. Even Samsung offers you option to turn it off, which I always did.
Overall, I know those will be great phones!

I expect it's going to be another mediocre year for Apple in terms of sales figures. A cheap iphone variant is not good for Apple's long term image as a premium brand. It may increase sales in the short term but it will kill profitability and brand image in the long term. Apple should instead focus on improving hardware features (offer micro sd card slots, dual SIM options, 4000mAh batteries, compliance to industry standard connectors/chargers/usb hardware, etc. rather than come up with its own proprietary hardware standards) and focus on improving software features and user experience through better customization options, better file transfer, file management, and using industry standard rather than proprietary screen sharing/file sharing standards, etc.). Those are way much more user experience enhancing than coming up with a cheap watered down iPhone model with lower hardware specs and cheaper build. But then again, knowing how Apple locks its users to its system to monetize everything from software to hardware accessories, I'm not seeing or expecting a more open Apple anytime soon. The current iPhone/iOS user experience can only be described as an overly limiting, restrictive and suffocating experience for someone who is used to the freedom, flexibility, openness and joys of the Android experience.

AnonD-546724, 09 Sep 2018New cameras ? I think you're expecting too much of Apple he... moreWhere did you got that 200 ppi?
To make that true the resolution of one side should be less than 600p, and that is not happening, like ever.
Every rumor ive read talk about 950p or something like that to keep the 326ppi and 2X retina assets unchanged.
