Naming a theatre after Steve Jobs really says a lot about the values of the company. Steve Jobs was a vitriol boss who controlled his employees with fear.

Furiounx, 09 Sep 2018No triple cameras... :(To be fair, Huawei just use two too as the monochrome sensor they have since two years ago has never been proved useful, at all.

nik.007, 09 Sep 2018At the price at which we can get high quality Amoled panel,... moreWhen they, the analyst and some sites including this one, say TFT LCD they are referring to IPS.
The cheap TFT you are mistaken for is called TN. Both are in fact TFT.
And no, Apple had never used TN on ther phones not even on the "cheap" ones; the SE and ipad 2017/2018 are IPS.

Kingslayer, 09 Sep 2018One of the reasons why I didn't get the iPhone X last year ... more120Hz on an iPhone wouldn't really happen. However 4GB of Ram is guranteed to be on the more premium models. ^^;
As for storage... beats me. I am expecting 128 GB to be the minimum on Xs as well

Kingslayer, 09 Sep 2018One of the reasons why I didn't get the iPhone X last year ... moreSamsung does not provide 120Hz oled.
Except Asus ROG and XZ3, all oled phones are 60Hz.
The LCD phones have 120Hz ( Sharp, Razer, Xperia X flagships) or 144Hz ( XZ2 Premium)

One of the reasons why I didn't get the iPhone X last year was because iOS11 might have been the worst update ever. The lag and battery drain was evident. You could see iPhones losing to Samsungs in PhoneBuff's speed tests. I keep hearing good things about iOS12 though. Correcting the wrongs of its predecessor.
I will be more sold on the Xs if the base model is 128 GB. My Essential only cost me $249.55. Why should I pay triple for an iPhone Xs with only half the storage and a device I won't even use for a phone? I would also like an extra gig of RAM. I just saw the Note9 easily beat the iPhone X in a speed tests once they got to the 2nd rd.
Xs
- 128 GB base model
- 4 GB RAM
- Much improved iOS12
- 120Hz display
Deliver with all four and I'm sold. The iPhone 9 pr whatever they will call it is tempting because of price, comes in red, and LCD lasts longer, but the Xs could be the same size as the X at 143mm in height. Perfect size.
After this iPhone Xs and investing in their overrated ecosystem, I'll probably be back using a Pixel by 2022. The Pixel 7 will be out by then. Perhaps sooner or whenever my Essential breaks down. Many iPhones can last a good 3-4 years. Many of my relatives still use an iPhone 6/6 Plus from four years ago and they got it close to launch day. Grace Randolph (Beyond The Trailer) still uses an iPhone 6. They simply age better and easier to get them fixed at a store, sealed battery and all.

All of the above are possible choices that Apple could make for it's upcoming iPhones but personally I'd like to stick to some of them:
Firstly, the name. iPhone name has become the hardest choice after the introduction of iPhone X (ten), even more considering that iPhone lineup now is more similar to iPads with two distinctive lineups: iPhone 9 (the regular) and Xs, Xs Max (the Pro). So, the easiest way would be to call them iPhone Xs 6.1", iPhone Xs Pro 5.8", iPhone Xs Pro 6.5".
Secondly, I've heard that iPhone 9 price would start at $849 in US and not like the early predicted $699, so a CPU choice of last year (A11 Bionic) is no longer an option: the iPhone 9 will stick to the latest and greatest (A12 Neural).
Third, camera upgrades will affect the entire lineup, saying so, all 3 phones will have the same wide angle camera sensor with identical specs, only the Xs lineup will have an additional telephoto camera.
Lastly, as the price indicates, the memory configuration for the iPhone 9 would be identical to iPhone 8 before it: 64, 256GB with 3GB RAM not topping at 128GB

Regarding the newer iPhones, I might get the gold Xs to match the Apple Watch I'm getting. I like that color scheme. It's more of a champagne gold with a black front. The red iPhone 9 looks pretty great too although the red OnePlus 6 is sexier.
If T-Mobile offers a BOGO deal, then it would be hard to pass up. They aren't like Verizon which only offers bill credits. TMo will send you a rebate card after 1.5 months. I usually pay the entire balance and then cut off that 2nd line.
The only reasons why I'm so hesitant getting these iPhones is the glass back. I always prefer caseless. Why cover them up? With glass backs, not only a fingerprint magnet but it does get stickier over time. I wish it was a matte finish like my halo gray Essential.
We shall see. Too bad these iPhones are now stuck with the Intel modem chips. The Verizon iPhone X was the last to use Qualcomm. Apple Watch 4 is my main priority. The newer iPhones are just gravy if a great Black Friday deal comes around...
In another year, iPhone 11 arrives with a smaller notch, in-display Touch ID, newer colors, yadda, yadda. Expect 4-year design cycles. No rush. These iPhones make up 70% of Apple's profits. They will be around forever and ever.
Apple can be very predictable and boring like missionary sex.

ryballs, 09 Sep 2018When Samsung's biggest difference between a phone they brou... moreWell let's see. The "lacking innovation" Samsung (Which i don't like, but they are still a much lesser Eviul than Apple. Every manufacturer is) has:
-Much better battery.
-Much more functional OS
-SD slot
-3.5mm jack
-stylus
-Better screen to body ratio without a notch
-fingerprint scanner
I'm sure i'm forgetting a lot, but that's more than enough.
So who exactly needs to "innovate" (catch up with the competition)? As i said, they are only good at achieving high benchmark scores and only kids (actual or mental kids) care about that nowadays.

ryballs, 09 Sep 2018It's ironic how everyone is saying this lacks innovation co... moreLOL expect Apple is always years behind competition at everything except the CPU (And grown up people don't give a damn about benchmark results). If you compare a Mercedes's newest model to Great Wall's greatest model, do you care about their previous models or you'd still pick the Mercedes even if it only has different door handles compared to their previous version?

My iPhone history -
iPhone 2G
iPhone 3G
iPhone 4
iPhone 5
iPhone SE
My Android history is double that. The 3G and 5 weren't technically mines. Just hand me downs. I've only owned smaller iPhones. Was actually going to get the iPhone X last year but I feel "s" models are better in the longer run.
Apple's ecosystem is suffocating though. I only have to put up with it because Apple's products have such great resale value and Americans get them the cheapest to sell it to a different country for a decent profit. Most of my paid apps are with the Play Store.
Apple Watch is very interesting because my phone holder for my car broke. With the AW4, I can pair it with my SE and just glance at my wrist for navigation while driving. I always glance at the people who own the Apple Watch. Very popular and noticeable where I live.
If I do this Apple thing, I might get the AirPods and AirPower to go with them. I will still use my Essential Phone as my daily driver. I can never truly leave Android for iOS. Then once my Essential is ready to retire, I'll get a Pixel to replace it. Hopefully, Google improves the design in a year or two.

NickX8, 09 Sep 2018And a stylusWhen Samsung's biggest difference between a phone they brought out 6 months ago and their new flagship is a gimmicky stylus, that's just sad. I'm not an Apple fanboy at all but this new iPhone's 7nm chipset basically makes Note9 tech obsolete.

If the iPhone Xs (don't like the LCD one because it's bigger, I don't like big phones) is $800 for the base storage, then the 256 GB one sounds like a good deal for me (assuming it's gonna be priced at $900 or around 56,700 pesos) once it's released here around middle of November (same like period iPhones are released every year here, except for the X which was released December here). After all, it's almost 100% certain that the 5.5" Pixel 3 (which I would have preferred) will never be officially released here unless you buy from the grey markets or from imports like from Shopee or Lazada which don't have official warranty (no way I'm buying phones without official warranty).

I'm eligible for an upgrade since my balance with T-Mobile is only $100 left which I can easily pay off in a couple days. The thing is, I'm not really interested in the new iPhones. I want the Apple Watch Series 4. Could pair it with my iPhone SE daily. Need it for voice navigation. Apple Maps isn't that bad.
I might be interested in the new iPhones by Black Friday week. T-Mobile might offer another BOGO deal. If so, maybe I'll pick up a gold iPhone Xs and red iPhone 9. I might trash iOS alot on here but I started with the first generation iPhone years before I went to Android.
For now, my first smartwatch could be an Apple. Blame them for being too expensive, greedy, and restrictive. That's true. And I might never love iOS like I do with Android which is also flawed. But to Apple's credit, their products do last longer than Androids and they have the stores to make them last longer once the batteries wear out. Just don't update the software every single year.
Typing from my iPhone SE and it's as smooth as the day I bought it back on May 20, 2017. Battery life is still fantastic but I never updated to iOS11. Can't say the same for my other Androids except the original Pixel and Essential. Google Pixels and Apple iPhones for now on. Unlocked. No OEM and carrier bloat. Software experience is a smooth as butter.
