One fewer: the OnePlus 6T will not have a headphone jack, Carl Pei confirms

13 September 2018
It's official, folks. OnePlus even unveiled a version of its Bullets V2 headphones with USB-C as the 3.5mm model is going the way of the dodo.

Armali, 14 Sep 2018I freaking hate the snowball effect that apple does to the ... moreSeriously man. I don't understand this weird world we live in where we are going backwards. Removing the 3,5 jack is going backwards. This is not a case where something superior comes in and takes over the old thing. Like the switch from micro-usb to usb-c we are seeing now. That change is welcome, because usb-c is superior to regular micro usb.

But the headphone jack doesn't have a successor. The companies are forcing people to use wireless headphones, more radio signals going through your body, they want us to become more and more unhealthy. That is all what this is about. Everything has to be wireless and there must be radio signals going through our bodies and heads everywhere. This is intentional and purposely done. It's not about saving costs or 'making space for other tech', which is a such a straight up lie that not even a kid should fall for it. They're doing it because they want those unhealthy radio waves going through our bodies.

LOL, what a load of BS. Why not just have both a 3.5 headphone jack and a USB type C port? its still bad, even if they included a usb type C to 3.5 connector when you buy it.

I hope people will stop buying phones who take out the headphone jack. There are enough phones to choose from that has a headphone jack. Make it a point that we will not succumb to the idiocy of marketing.

They have loads of useful features built into the OS and i also like the relatively clean look. LG UI is definitely smoother than Samsung in general , although my S9 is as smooth as anything out there.

I can live with the notch, but headphone jack and Micro SD are a MUST for me. I can also live without android updates as long as security updates are provided. Android updates are overrated anyway. My S7 edge got screwed from an update to Oreo, its a lot buggier now and battery sucks.

The rumors say they will copy R17pro design which has 3.5 jack and a bigger (than OP6) 3700 mAh battery.
                So what's OP's excuse?
At least I hope they will bring some or all of the next new "features" to compensate: stereo speakers, IP67, wireless charging, SuperVOOC equivalent charging, microSD port, USB 3.1 standard.

I wouldn't mind if they did, but stuck to a 17:9 aspect ratio. As it is, the new LG phones are physically larger in dimension but the screen is actually smaller in usable size.

Not to mention, they still have a so-so SkinnedOS and offer very poor software support/updates. They've got some ways to go before they can really give the Samsung flagships a decent challenge (see: LG G6 price drop).

From Now all will start Boycotting Oneplus Mobiles. Personally I definatly want Heafphone Jack

NOT BUYING ONEPLUS phones anymore. Was one of their biggest fans. Me, my wife and my sister are all using Oneplus phones thanks to my active cheerleading for them.

What a load of crock. Stupid stupid stupid decision that doesn't make ANY SENSE at all. I dont give a toss about 500 mah of extra battery capacity or half a cm of screen space or whatever the hell they are claiming.

Makes my life very simple. LG or Samsung, simples. Will buy AND recommend those two brands to everyone i know.

Show your disapproval for these practices by NOT buying OP phones.

It's so sad my beloved Oneplus has suddenly joined the 3.5mm jackless bandwagon.
It's a pity mobile phone manufacturers these days are gradually losing it. Someone either eliminates or introduces a feature and every other OHM follows without properly assessing its merits and demerits. Innovation has been swept under the carpet giving way to imitation. I miss the days when mobile phones could be used to control electronic gadgets, convenient enough to be handled with one hand, tune in to your favourite radio station effortlessly etc.
So what is the essence of technology if its trend deliberately changes to suit a few groups of people to the neglect of the majority?
