Its more convenient on the computer as the phone is always on your person, computer not so much. Id be fine with everyone ditching the 3.5mm if everyone could agree to make all devices with usb-c

For a true-lover of sound quality, a conventional set-up (good monitoring headphone, good DAC, lossless audio source) means the best experience. Why bother using phone for listening to music? Walkman era has ended long long ago and I can't replicate those experience in today's standard.

I bet some influential person from the smartphone industry had a fight with another from the headphones industry, and this is the fallout.. mobile companies losing the 3.5 while headphones companies making them, and better than ever!

Of course recharging while listening might not work, but from my experience (can be different than your) I rarely do it.

I freaking hate the snowball effect that apple does to the market everytime they come up with something stupid and call it a feature then everyone blindly follows them, I'd rather die before i give up the headphone jack for no logical reason what so ever, it's one of stupiditst tends in the tech community right now, the headphone jack is a valuable port, it's universally used on devices other than smart phones, and even if the mobile industry decided to give up on it other industries have and will not, I'm not gonna change my life style and carry a bunch of headphones dongles and what not just because some corporates say so, I'll go back to using a banana phone first since the trend is going backwards, what a dumb world we live in right now

I know people will say move forward but I say its going backward.
standard 3.5mm jack was a good approach from companies back then when all of 'em had their own type of connectors, it was an advancement by that step (same like we're moving forward with usb type c on all phones including iphones) and it was universal connector so you can connect with any type of headphone, use it on your desktop, on your laptop, enjoy music on your player.
now by removing standard 3.5mm jack and now you have companies own different type of 3.5 adapter some comes with extra features some don't, etc etc. what a drag.
just keep that jack and call it a day. the size you'll save by removing a single jack can be recovered by making size by a slightly wider or slightly thicker device. is it that hard?

For the first time i was happy that finally i'm gonna get a OnePlus phone.
                                        Not anymore, why?
They took away the 3.5mm jack, that for me is one of the "must have" on a phone. I listen to music every day at least 2 hours on my phone and i just paid 300 bucks for a nice pair of Beats.
What am i gonna do now? Sell the headphones? NO thank you!

I'll buy the Note 9, yes, i'll pay more but i'll have the best phone on the market and has everything.
Prefer to pay 1000 bucks now and have a phone for the next 3 years rather than pay 500 bucks a year for an OP without 3.5 mm jack.
