Most users interested in budget phones DGAF about those things you mentioned. They see a 6" AMOLED, Triple Camera, 24MP selfie cam, and Samsung logo for that price and they'd hand their cash...
If Xiaomi, Oppo, and Huawei can cut corners and copy to compete; why shouldn't Samsung? Gradient back. iPhone cam arrangement... Sammy isn't going down without a fight.
Let's see how low Huawei and co can cut prices further. If HTC had done same, they wouldn't be struggling. There comes a time when you have to roll your sleeves and get dirty. Want the acclaimed Samsung identity, up the budget. Else it's another run-off-the-mill copy that ticks the right boxes and make compromises in other areas.

Wide angle camera is awesome, but why, why do we need depth sensor??? You could do awesome bokeh with only 2 cameras

Why samsung.... 5mp depth sensor when you can use the wide camera for bokeh effect? This is oppo dual cam all over again.

Just another dead on arrival, overpriced, hopeless mid range Android phone by Samsung which WILL lag within it's first 3 moths of usage.

Very good start to the new 3-camera setup on Samsung devices. I wish this was like 24+12+12 MP though, so that the zoom range could have been wider and more usable. Buy great start, nonetheless.
On the S10 series, I hope they use the 48MP Sony IMX586 Sensor along with 2 x 12MP sensors (1/2.55 or larger sensor) and one of those sensors needs super fast readout (full res at 60-120fps) . That camera setup could have like 4-6 times optical zoom, plus superb low light, excellent HDR and also very detailed photos. I also hope Samsung is working on improving the ISPs on the Exynos and further improving the HDR Algorithms. I also hope they have 10-bit photos in HDR, and target 14 stops of dynamic range for HDR. Also I wish Samsung Cameras were made with fitting accessories like ND Filters in mind.
The S and Note Series are almost perfect as they are. Maybe a new design language geared towards futuristic design would be the right thing to do.
I wish Samsung would work on accessories via the USB-C port, like Mics, larger camera modules (like a 1inch camera module) etc.
I hope Samsung collaborates with Blackmagic Design to have the 12:1 flavour of Black Magic RAW on the top model of the S10. That would be pathbreaking. Even if it were priced $1500-2000, Filmmakers, Youtubers, Bloggers and all sorts of Videographers would buy it.

The same things everyone told about Nokia decent price and ECT and the company destroyed and being bought from Microsoft. In our days where the competition is very strong, it does not count at all the brand name marketing. Only what a company offers in return for the consumer's money. Wake up Samsung you continue to sleep. If you don't give to the consumers what they want, you will not get what you want in return. when exist strong competition brand name does not count.
