We tried the Oppo Find X Lamborghini's Super VOOC charging and it's stupid fast

07 October 2018
Spoiler alert: It takes just 35 minutes to go from 0 to 100%.

Extremely foolish charging phone with fast charger to make it last longer?
Dude, the battery & charger for flagship devices are designed differently from the mid-range, let alone low-end devices.
Both the battery & charger are designed to be able to withstand / maintain the capacity over continuous use of fast charging.

My dad bought Mi5s plus exactly 2 years ago which comes with QC 3.0-equivalent charger and he ALWAYS use it to charge his phone until now.

2 years later? The battery is STILL works like a champ. With heavy use (50% brightness, Wi-Fi ON for 7 hours, 4G ON for the rest of the day, moderate calls, full use of WhatsApp), the battery last a day, and for light use (auto brightness, No Wi-Fi, 4G ON all day, few calls, sometimes WhatsApp), the battery last a day and half, up to full two days sometimes.

Moreover, this is the TRUE INNOVATION in charging tech which has been dormant for several years, so we need to wait & see how SuperVOOC will turns out.

or, don't tell me, are u some kind of MESSENGER who knows that superVOOC and any other Fast Charging tech will flop and prove that ur god, crApple, is true, as u believed that "as if everything they do is just about the right thing"?

AnonD-632062, 08 Oct 2018Well, it's not the 15 minutes full charge as told by Oppo, ... moreThose stats were for a 2500 mAh battery and on a concept model which didn't need to be slowed down at the end to preserve battery. So this 35 minutes charging time is pretty legit.

Nice. Hopefully it will inspire the other brands to do the same. I'd still rather have double the battery life than double the charging speed, though

As always Apple wins the contest. Much how they have not followed into the willy megapixels/resolution race (and by now the rest had followed), they are now not joining the super charging race which seriously kills the batteries' longevity.

Only Apple cares about her customers so (that along with supporting a device 5 years on)

                    1. Wall charger to phone: 10V/5A (50W)
                    2. Phone to battery 5V/10A (50W) IF you consider the battery as a singular unit but the truth is that it is distributed to two batteries @5V/5A (25Wx2=50W, Normal VOOC) each.

So basically Super VOOC contains two redundant Normal VOOC (25W) charger inside the phone, charging each of its own battery at 5V/5A.

                    10V/5A could be sustained by 18AWG @ 1 meter length, 25deg C, with 3% allowed voltage drop.

Well uif apple phones supports this fast charger their phones would die by overheating.
1500 euros for a phone with 18% of charged battery in 30 minutes.
Thats really crazy. Well some companies never learns and never heard what people wants.

My QC3.0 charger makes my phone heat up up to ~40 degrees C @30 degrees ambient and to remind you that is is just an 18W charger, no where near or even half the speed of Super VOOC. Temperature is the evil of battery degradation, not the rate of charge.

Lithium battery still has a limit on rate of charge but VOOC is still within the safe limit.

Faster charging, faster degradation of battery. Also don't forget the heat generated can lead to blast.

What if I charge Mi8 with SuperVOOC how fast will it charge? And how fast would Find X charge with QC3 or 5W charger?
