And just because apple prices them higher even other manufacturers - samsung, LG, HTC, etc etc tend to increase prices as they "have to compete" with apple and pricing higher seems to be the only way for some reason !!! .. ridiculous

DD, 09 Oct 2018Google fans won't buy any Samsung phones. Note 9 doesn't ev... moreso ????? ... ROFL ... samsung's version of Oreo is way better than Android 11.
Remember when pixels got the notification dots with Oreo ???? ... ROFL .. yeh samsung had those in 2012.
Android 9 doesn't even have app pairing, scrollable screen shot and new features in android 9 is stolen from samsung and other OEMs. Ohh and we have been enjoying dark modes since galaxy S6 via theme store while pixel boys have been enjoying only for 3 weeks now .. lol.
*Facepalm* when will these stock fans understand that stock android just adds features in new versions that have been in other OEM phones for ages !!!

        Android is Google
        Just think a little bit.

I am relatively surprised that the Snapdragon 845 is down clocked for 2018 Pixels... although I should not be, as the 2016 Pixels were down clocked. Hopefully, this move will provide better battery life than my GALAXY S9, which uses the same 845 SoC. My S9 is battery inefficient. I used to own an Essential PH-1 (I last ran Android 8.1 on it) which uses the Snapdragon 835. The battery life on the PH-1, WAS A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN MY S9. I had to return the PH-1, because it would not connect to my wireless network/carrier. I got the S9 instead. I'll be looking to get a non Samsung OEM's handset next year due to several reasons, including a lack of interest in Samsung's Android skin, poor battery life, and more. I recently saw a 17 min, 53 second video of a S9 running Android Pie. It did not impress me particularly.
Lastly, I hope that the usb-c headphones that come with 2018 Pixels can work with other Android usb-c models.

It's funny watch how the tandem Apple/Google now play the same game, remove features, overprice their phones each time more and avoid invest in the latest technological components, only good creating bugged software and Apple designing their own SoC that even can't manufacture by themselves.

None of them worth a penny at this point. At least out of US.

                      In India (approx. prices):

                      Pixel 3: 70k/80k for 64/128
                      Pixel 3 XL: 82/92 for 64/128
                      iPhone XR: 78/82/90 for 64/128/256
                      iPhone Xs: 100k/115k/135k for 64/256/512
iPhone Xs Max: 110k/125k/145k for 64/256/512

                      Meanwhile, Note9 128 GB price: INR 68k!!!

                      The difference is plain ridiculous.
At least a few sheeps will still buy the iPhones, but Google! How can they even think about moving units with these crazy prices, especially with the Note9, technically available for around 61k for 128 GB.

if some one is willing a fast and modern phone / camera is there a need of going over sd820..... any galaxy s7 user or lg g5 user like me for example don't feel the need of a new phone ... even if oreo is last update we are going to get..... case they are fast enough for years to come... has 4gb of ram... they have QHD screens they have micro sd .... they have excellent cameras as well ..... good sound 3.5 headphone jack.... fast charge so what are we missing android os updates that are useless for us.....yeah useless for us because manufactures put a lot of features on their devices before google put them on stock android ..... there is no need to change a phone unless you like to follow trends ... and besides apps will continue to work just fine I guess android has full support still on jelly bean phones ... so we are talking still about 1gb ram devices cortex a7 / a53 so have a good purchase

Seems like this is the year of very minor upgrades. S8 to s9, note 8 to note9, iPhone X to iPhone Xs, pixel 2/2xl to pixel 3/3xl.

These are not mainstream like apple and samsung even though how hard google tries to convince themselves that they are main stream. They always remain as the company that launches "beta testing products"

                                      The positives
Quick charger, wireless charging, good earphones in the box.
3 has no notch and is 68mm wide
Good to see subtle rear camera design, no camera hump.

                                      The negatives
                                      Everything else.

Overall, I have never seen the big appeal of Pixels. They offer two years of OS updates. Which is what you get even in budget Androids, even if they don't roll out on the first day. If like Apple, Pixels offered updates till the hardware can take it, then it becomes a compelling product. And worth this price.
