Disappointed. Seems like a warmed over Pixel 2 XL with the hugest notch ever and a slight increase in screen size.
I wouldn't mind a not so prominent notch with a bigger 4000mAh battery or at least a 3700mAh one.
With all the millions/billions spent to get a new design team...this is all they can produce?
I am not surprised of some of the design choices, the deepest notch...courtesy of the HTC design team known for the hugest bezels of years past.
How come a lot of new no name Chinese design teams can come up with near bezel-less screen devices with bigger 4000mAh batteries?? Why can't Google of all companies??
Google could've just picked the Pocophone, put in the Google camera and software, put in multi-mode bands, stock Android and price it reasonably. That's a winner.
I'm sure they could put front facing speakers and still reduce the notch and bottom bezels by a third.
Just like the LG V40...very nice phone even tho i don't like the aspect ratio, but WHY just a 3300mAh battery??? Common OEMs...just SEAL THE DEAL.

Only 4GB of RAM? This is gonna be an epic fail for it's price even if it's stock Android, where you many flagship phones have 6/8GB of RAM already. If I wanted a flagship phone with only 4GB of RAM in 2018, I might as well get an iPhone Xs. So guess the Pixel 3 is out of my choices for my next phone. They likely included the Pixel Buds as an apology for their disappointing devices.

I’m definitely considering the pixel 3 now, it’s the perfect screen size, no notch and has wireless charging! Looking forward to how the cameras perform

r33fd, 09 Oct 2018I understand software is important but we are talking about... moreWell I disagree. Even in the hardware department they bring all the latest, SOC, customized OLED display with HDR support, one of the best speakers ( and one of the only front facing firing speakers), IP68, fast wireless charging and the list go on and on... So they didn't include 6 gig ram and didn't put 2 back cameras, but you still get the best front and back cameras! And they also didn't do best in terms of bazels redaction, but you still get the best software experience! And with front speakers they still managed to make 77% screen to body ratio!

It doesn't matter when they provide the software update, it still doesn't change the fact that they invested alot of money and effort to bring you the best software.

AlexG, 09 Oct 2018Technology is not only hardware... Software is the second h... moreI understand software is important but we are talking about the launch of a new product here.
There is no justification in launching a new HARDWARE product if the hardware isn't actually a significant improvement from the previous model.

Software improvements can simply be implemented by updates. And this is how things should be done.
But instead of doing that they just re brand similar hardware and make it distinct by artificially limiting the software on older hardware.
Do you understand the problem now ?

If you are looking only the best hardware then go for Samsung, but in terms if software experience, there is no one better than Google.

At least the iPhones are the fastest phones in the world and are a premium product so there is an excuse for the pricing. But the pricing of the Pixels is plain ridiculous. If I am going to spend $1000 for a phone then I will buy the iPhone XS. If I want a great device at a cheaper price I will buy the Note9. What a flop.

The price difference EU-US is probably tax (~20%) and the extra 1 year for 2 year warranty as mandated by the EU.

Is this a joke or Google is actively trying to impersonate Apple ?

Technology wise this phone has an absurdly bad value for money ratio only bested by luxury items and Apple itself.

It's basically an uglier version of last year model with a faster SoC and some exclusive software.
That's all there is to it.
