You're mainly paying for SOFTWARE here. If you're ok with that though that's fine! Software IS expensive. What's odd is that you normally pay for HARDWARE and get SOFTWARE for "free"

It seems Pixel is done with aesthetics and settled for functionalities. Well and good. I was expecting an in-glass fps though. It could have set the trend.

Look the picture posted by Google taken with Xs, crappy and still was afternoon.
Photos from Premium at night 3200 have monochrome details than photo from Xs Max or Note 9 at ISO 400

G7, XZ2,... moreSure, but even their bigger 128GB models only has 4GB of RAM. In comparison, there are other brands like OnePlus which is priced less but has more RAM and storage for the same price. The P20 Pro, even if it is priced around the same as the Pixel 3 right now, already has 6GB of RAM on its base model. The LG G7 meanwhile, has 6GB of RAM on their 128GB Model.
At this point, Google is pretty much behaving like Apple, charging excessively for so called "experience" when there other alternatives that have close for the same experience. Their only petty consolation is including the Pixel Buds in the box, but that's just a poor apology for removing the headphone jack.

However, this is the GOOGLE PIXEL 3 were talking about, and they're charging $800 for a phone that has only 4GB of RAM. Meanwhile, many Android phones at around $529 like the OnePlus 6 already have 6GB of RAM. Worse, is that the SoC will be outdated in less than 5 months once the next Snapdragon SoC arrives early next year.
At this point, charging $800 to $900 for an Android phone with only 4GB of RAM in 2018, even if its stock Android is inexcusable. Google is now behaving like Apple, charging excessively for the sake of brand name. The only difference is that no other company uses iOS except Apple, meanwhile we have plenty of other options for Android.

Do not compare with Pocophone. This one is like Galaxy J5 with SD845.
In China things work different. People work much more than 8h/day, many suppliers are local and cheaper, they add ADDS to their UIs to make money, employees are cheaper compared to USA, Japan and South Korea.
Xiaomi does not make money by selling phones. They keep selling because they want too.
Honor is responsible for 60% of Huawei sales. Almost all in China.

Pros:
1. Fast wireless charging.
2. Front facing stereo speakers
3. OLED screen with HDR support.
4. IP68.
5. The latest HW.
6. Smaller version 77.2% and XL 82.2% screen to body ratio.
7. Fast updates for 3 years.
8. Best SW experience.
9. Best front and back cameras in the market.
10. The best AI.
11. Unlimited cloud storage for video/photos.
Cons:
1. 4 giga ram instead of 6.
2. Doesn't have the best screen to body ratio (keep in-mind that this is one of only phones that has front facing stereo speakers).
3. No headphone jack.
4. No MicroSD option.

The other camera is a monochrome version of imx380.
Sorry to inform but some sensors are exclusive for Sony Mobile.
Imx400 probably will be on XA3 next year.
And the power of Xz2 Premium is the IMAGE SIGNAL PROCESSOR called AUBE, responsible for real time merging of the colour and luminescence data.
Without it, the XZ2p would do same of Xz2/XZ3.
AUBE belongs to Sony Mobile, other cannot buy. Just try to copy!!!

Probably the reason it lacks this mode, like Sony.
Other phones with SD845 ( except Samsung, because 2 different CPU) could offer 4K HDR 10 like G7 ( Sony has different 4K HDR) but they chose not to offer.
Matter of choices here.

Well, I don't like iPhone.
But I doubt that the photo used to compare was from one.
No way a flagship would make scene that dark, it was not even sunset yet.
How about facing P20 Pro and XZ2P?
