Samsung. Do not do this. This is not what people want. Sales have gone down slightly but they are still the biggest selling smartphone brand in the world and that's for a reason. They make the best, most well rounded feature rich phones

Don't do it Samsung.
Nothing beats the convenience of plugging them headphones in and enjoying.
Instead, be creative and use this 3.5mm hole for something, like heat vents for high performance.

Whackcar, 10 Oct 2018Also, If your phone supports wireless charging, then all yo... moreI love wireless charging but you can't say it doesn't have any con. First, as of today, fastest wireless charging is 15w in Lg which is far less than around 30w wired. Second, it produce more heat which is bad for your battery. Third, this depends on the charger. Some chargers don't stop charging devices even when their battery are full. This behavior reduce battery cycle to some extent.

Whackcar, 10 Oct 2018Also, If your phone supports wireless charging, then all yo... moreThey do have cons. They are considerably bigger so you can't just carry one with you everywhere you go. And for your car you'll also need to buy a holder with integrated wireless charging. And there is still the problem with usb port being too vulnerable when used with headphones. Whatever you do, lack of 3.5mm jack is always a huge compromise.

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018No, thanks, this is another ridiculous and unacceptable opt... moreAlso, If your phone supports wireless charging, then all you need is a wireless charger. You can then charge your phone while listening to music with USB-C headphones. Unlike wireless headphones, wireless charges don't have any cons & are actually very convenient. Modern wireless chargers support fast-charging too, so it's all good.

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018I might be mistaken, but i believe the dac is always there ... moreThe DAC is always there, but the internal DAC is bypassed if digital audio is output via USB C, the internal DAC tends to be more powerful and can decode faster sample rates and higher bit depth because the s835/845 has greater processing power than digital headphones or the dongles.

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018No, thanks, this is another ridiculous and unacceptable opt... moreIf you buy the right phone, you won't end up in a situation like that. Buy a phone with a large battery & it'll last you throughout the day without you needing to charge it while listening to music.
As i said, I've been using USB-C headphones for over 2 years, never broke them (i bought two different ones, and both are working fine to this day).
Also what danger are you speaking off? You do realize we use this same port for charging our phones right? Please think before you write...

2019 October News: Samsung has the BIGGEST loss of revenues due to ditching of the jack on Galaxy Note 10.
2019 November News: Many Samsung Note 10 devices around the world explodes again despite 5-point battery safety check and all of this is blamed on the lack of a jack. Samsung will discontinue this model immediately.
2019 December News: Good news. Upcoming Galaxy Note 11 set to return the jack going forward.

Whackcar, 10 Oct 2018I've read of some of the comments below, and i noticed that... moreUsb C headphones tend to sound worse than the 3.5mm Jack in most flagship phones as their DACs and amps are much cheaper and have less power.
The integrated audio from the Snapdragon 835 and up can decode a wide range of high Res formats, even the mid range Snapdragon 660 does 24bit 192khz.
In comparison, usb c libratone which costs more than a hundred can only do 16bit 48khz at best and I am willing to bet the anti aliasing filters are poor.
This is why usb c headphones are so stupid, is every pair of headphones going to have to have an expensive DAC before they sound decent when with 3.5mm the high quality dac is already in the phone.

Unless Samsung can include 2 USB Type-C ports, include USB Type-C AKG headphones in Note 10 and S11, we Android Truthers / Users will probably jump ship to another brand or a mid-high end model of Samsung.
