It's never too early for a spicy rumor but this time it might be.

Just like humans, smartphones have cables inside of them too (e.g. the signal wire), bus then again, phones do not need anything to be connecting them to keep them charged. Just like humans have beds, phones have wireless chargers. Simple as that

If they think they'll sell more phones by removing the headphone jack, they are so freaking wrong!

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2018If companies are deciding to remove the headphone jack for ... moreCouldn't agree more! Manufacturers should include a decent pair of wireless headphones out of the box, instead of charging us more money. Most wireless headphones from the giant manufacturers like Apple and Samsung still costs a lot.

Yes, Wireless are fancy looking good but what if you go travelling and there is no charge on your wireless earphone ? You will charge or you will listen to music ? And what if your one earpod fell from your ear ? Keep searching .. wired is way better and in sound Quality too. Hope lg will keep 3.5 mm jack and will buy that one

Whackcar, 10 Oct 2018If you buy the right phone, you won't end up in a situation... moreYou think before you write. He's saying the Type-C port is at higher risk of breaking because it now sees insertion cycles because of headphone use AND charging use. And what pray tell is "buy the right phone" they're removing the connectors with the excuse of "room for more battery" and have nothing to show for it.

"Buy a phone with a large battery & it'll last you throughout the day without you needing to charge it while listening to music."

And just why exactly are you rolling over and willing to get f****d? You've literally just admitted, nay defended (poorly) the fact that you've lost the ability to do something that you could do previously, and are somehow complacent with it. Also, let me see you say that in 1 year when the battery life has degraded.

                  Please think before you write...

taking the headphone jack is a very bad idea

However, Lack of 3.5mm jack is a HUGE inconvenience. I spent several hundreds of dollars on a phone, WHY the heck should I spend more for a feature THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN A PHONE as a STANDARD?

marko97sx, 11 Oct 2018Wired IS better... as of right now.Well of course right now. We are living in the NOW, i don't care what might be 10 years in the future as i won't be using my current phone 10 years from now. Even if wireless becomes a greater option in the next few months, the 3.5mm jack won't prevent you from going wireless.
So, only extremely...confused (I'd use another word, but i don't want my comment deleted) people would settle for an inferior option with the idea that it might get better in the future (It won't, unless they make them draw charge out of thin air, and it'll take many years for that to happen, if ever).

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2018Wired is better. You prefer wirelessHe said the better way, not better sound quality. Not all people mind average sound quality, as long as it's not a garbage sounding cans. Some people want convenience, plugging earphones into their ears and that's it. No wires, no tangled cables, no plugging. If sounds comes out and it's loud, they're happy. If they use it for calling and at both ends are clear sounding, they're happy. If we're talking about sound quality, then that's a different story. Wireless tech nowadays are all about ease of use, not quality (yet).

If they're really pushing us to using wireless headphones, then do it like Apple. In my opinion Apple has the best wireless integration among their devices. I'm not talking about airpods, it's about the way apple devices interact with each other wirelessly. The seamlessness and the ease of use are the best, period.

Samsung, your sales are bad because people still talk about exploding phones, things like that echo in eternity. I don't mind exploding phones, but I will mind if you remove the jack. All in all, your sales are very good, the problem is you expect much more.

Yeah, not including the adapter with the Xs, Xs Max and Xr is a bad move, I agree, but if we're going to move on to the future, we gotta compromise a little. Next thing that's gonna be removed is probably the lightning port, and we all gotta be used to wireless by then.
