Anonymous, 11 Oct 2018Such an adapter won't be any huge inconvenience, it will no... moreLack of space is not a problem, the thing is, companies can put whatever they want inside a phone, they can probably fit a USB A port, but why do we exactly need it? Same goes for the headphone jack.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2018Global warming is supposed to be the future too...doesn't m... moreYeah, but... Think about the Floppy drive, how many people use floppy disks now? Or even CD Drives, Apple removed both of them. Who actually uses a CD Drive? (Apart from consoles) Same with the headphone jack, it's useful, but there's a better way to listen to music. i.e. wireless.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2018How about just give us a headphone with USB C jack? Thanks, but no, thanks. That's not a way to make up for the missing jack, not even close.
How about not putting any headphones in the box, but keeping the jack and lowering, or at least not rising prices?

Sad facts., 10 Oct 2018Removing Jack is the only way forward. Same as IR blasters,... moreYou are right, nowsaday the smartphone side frame is very slim a 3.5mm jack may ruin the build structure because it use the cylinder shape of space. What we can expect is the headphones come with support both USB type-C connector and wireless features it would be nice.

Vegetaholic, 11 Oct 2018That would be definitely major blow to Samsung. I would bet... moreYea i'm never buying "wireless" headsets either, unless they make them "magically" getting charge out of thin air. Now that would be wireless. Current "wireless" headphones are only wireless until you need to charge them. Much more inconvenient than wired by default.

That would be definitely major blow to Samsung. I would better have my old phone with 3.5mm Jack or move to whatever company still keeps them than ever buying any wireless headset.

If they do such stupid move when there's clearly nothing better all around to replace the 3.5mm headphone jack, I will never buy their device again. The Note 8 will be my first and last Samsung device.

I mean is it so bad? Samsung has been giving away good AKG headphones for free since S9, and I don't think they will stop.

marko97sx, 11 Oct 2018Your comment is completely false. First, companies are adap... moreGlobal warming is supposed to be the future too...doesn't mean it's a great thing and the nonsense tech companies are pushing is certainly NOT a great thing either. Nobody stops you from using wireless whatever you want. The opposite? Well yea, you can use a jack...kinda. But that methods are a huge compromise (And the existence of 3.5mm jack is zero compromise for those who wnt to use wireless, you gain nothing, except for a few blatant lies about what a huge gain that is...) as mentioned countless of times.

Adapters stink. Especially with fragile looking ports like the shit USB C that looks like it's tongue is gonna fall off.
It was not enough to seal phone batteries. Gotta seal accessories battery as well.
Next thing we will have no power buttons because Apple takes it out then proceed to sell a Bluetooth remote called iSwitch.
