Geric.770, 12 Oct 2018I prefer the regular Mate 20. :)It'll likely be much cheaper too.
As for me.... let's see how much the regular Pixel 3 will be priced here (from unofficial stores) and what the price of the iPhone Xs will be and I'll decide from there.

ryballs, 12 Oct 2018No monochrome camera sensor or 6.9" display? :(6.9" display? That would make the phone oversized and most people would not want that size. 6.4" is perfectly in line with competitor phones and is big enough for most people.
As for the monochrome camera, The 40mp camera has a quad bayer setup that in addition to OIS and f1.8 aperture would provide solid low-light photography even without the Monochrome camera. That is assuming the above leak is correct. It might just be the same 40mp setup as P20 Pro. Let's wait for official announcement.

HA HA, So 1k for a bunch of useless crippled cameras, their own idiot card format, and loads of usless bloat on top of android.
For the same 1k price, I will buy a second hand Sony A77 mk2 dslr, with lens + £150/200 mid tier phone that will have 95% of the capability of a mate 20 Pro, I wonder who is going to be taking the better pictures ?
This is just another example of the stupid idea of camera centric phones that no matter how much you pay for one will never, ever be able to produce a picture that can even get close to what a cheap real camera can do, no matter how much grunt the main cpu/gpu has or how many extra image data specific chips makers add, it's always going to be crap, the old saying of "rubbish in = rubbish out" will always be true for an imageing device that has such tiny light gathering capability.
Please don't give me the standard answer of, but you will have the phone near or on you, because by the time you have picked up, it's unlocked itself and your pointing the phone in the right direction and it's got a lock on the subject, far too often you've missed the shot you wanted/needed, and a phone a tenth of the price will also probably have missed the shot, but if you have even a small pocket camera next to phone or nearby, in stand by mode, you will probably miss less shots, and the ones you do manage to get will be of much better quality, me, I use a leica V-lux 40,cost £150 from ebay, if you are going to use a device with more time at hand, like landscape, portrait, macro, selfie shot, then even that little leica will take better images every time, and if your really serious about image quality, carrying a small dslr is very little trouble and means you can get superb raw images far beyond the capabilities of any set of phone cameras and any amount of processing, live or post. These phones are sold on the idea that you can take good quality images, well its a lie, they can't, they can produce barely ok images. And remember kiddies, even the biggest/best digital imaging device in the world can only produce a few billion data points, compared to the trillions of data points in an analogue 35mm silver based film frame..

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2018"Oddly enough, Huawei will introduce its own Nano Memory Ca... moreI think the reason they're launching their own new type of memory card is so they can earn some side money from this proprietary accessory.
Although an SD slot would've been ideal, this is still better than not giving the user the option of expendable storage at all. Maybe Apple should take cues...
The 3.5mm jack is probably gone though. Don't expect to see it in most new/upcoming flagship phones. Even Samsung is supposed to ditch it next year.

Prices keeo increasing and yet phones keep losing their appeal. I already feel like my S8 isn't any better than the S7, S6 or even S5 I had previously. These newer phones are even worse.

"Oddly enough, Huawei will introduce its own Nano Memory Card format with the Mate 20 Pro, which won't have support for microSD. The Nano cards will be offered in capacities up to 256GB and are the size of a nano SIM (hence the name). They should be as fast as microSD cards, but obviously smaller."
Bet this Nano Memory Card is expensive at launch. We will see how it goes in the long term and whether manufacturers will adopt it. Why can't Huawei make it backwards compatible with microsd?? Huawei could have been the first to have a hybrid slot that accepts Nano SIM, Nano Memory Card and microsd at the same time. This we will accept. Look at Samsung, they still have Nano SIM card and microsd as a hybrid slot.
Sadly, 3.5mm jack is omitted again like it's predecessor.

Woah, if that info is accurate, then Huawei has outperformed once again. I mean the phone has literally every feature one could ask for.
I have my doubts regarding that camera setup tough... But if true, then that's just awesome.
