There are many offers on the market, so that is going to lower SSD prices. More competitors on the market is better for customers. Increased amount of SSDs is going to reduce price of HDD too. Every PC builder will get cheaper storage, so there wont be lack of disk space anymore.

Over confident move from Huawei.
After collaborate with leica to set new standard of photography, now Huawei want to test the water, stand out of the crowd, gain the viral issue by set new standard for external storage of handphone by NM. Will it succeed or not depend on acceptance in the market and how huawei develop the ecosystem like apple or sony.
But for now, stand a way from the first generation customer of mate with NM, still long way to go.

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2018Evo Plus.
BUT it was advertised
100 MB/s read speed... moreYour reader must also be capable. It's like a PCie NVMe SSD in a SATAIII slot. You'll get SATAIII speeds because you can only read at SATAIII speeds.
If you do not understand those highly complex acronyms, picture a car and a road. I'll leave up to you the brand, model and colors. But the manufacturer will tell you the car can go up to X KM/h (200, 300, 400 for the luxury car of your dreams). Now see the road. It's not a raceway. It's not your private alleyway. It's a public road and guess what, there's a speed limit. You can't go beyond that speed. Same here. Your reader is the road speed limit.
Also the advertised

D1G1T, 17 Oct 2018I addition Huawei offers adapters NM card to Micro SD. So b... moreThe nonsense is calling this a standard when it is not. It's proprietary and a technical step backward from a performance perspective.

Let's be honest about something, this isn't a standard. The SD Association has yet to adopt this design. Until that happens this is a proprietary offering.
Frankly, this is step backward, given that size is what gives you the space for the memory chip. More size, more memory. Not to mention the chip is slower than current SD tech.
No thank you Huawei.

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2018Evo Plus.
BUT it was advertised
100 MB/s read speed... moreDid you even read other comments?
The devices which you are using that card in aren't capable of higher speeds. The CARD READER MODULE has to be fast enough to achieve those speeds!
To make an analogy - protein builds muscle, right? So, if you work out and ingest 3kg of whey protein in one day, will you get 3kg of muscle? Nope, because no matter the quality of protein, your body can't make use of it in such quantities

BUT it was advertised
100 MB/s read speed and
up to 95 MB/s write speed...

Still nowhere around.
(If it was 10 %lower than advertised i would understand but it is more than 50% at maximum)
P.S: It is bought from Samsung own website and it is original.

Stupid beyond reason.
Better to add more base internal storage rather than some non-standard memory card that isn't even available.
Sony Memory stick ring any bells?
Hope this idea dies quickly, but noisily, so stupid engineers won't try it again.
Losing big money on stupid ideas also is another negative reinforcement.

Well maybe an interesting topic or someone but for me its obsolette.
In present era where phone memory easily reaches 128, 256 or 512 GB having a SD Card is pointless.
Only people excited for adult industry will find usefull having a SD Slot in a 512GB phone.
