I love Sony hardware all around -- cameras, TVs, Vaio laptops, their professional audio video equipment and even their 'failures' like the MiniDisc and BetaMax -- but I must admit their phone software needs improvement. After yearning and saving for a Sony Compact for years, I finally got an XZ2 Compact. And returned it in a week.

Was underwhelmed by their UI. It's stock featureless Android, has bloat like Amazon, Facebook and Sonys own Album and other apps and the camera takes perfect pics, does some post processing for a micro second and ruins it. The UI is so stock, they could seed updates as soon as Pixels and Android Ones instead of taking this long.

I wish Sony uses their sensibilities and ethos into developing their Android interface, which could compete and better Samsung, MIUI, EMUI and others. And stop that post processing with their camera.

The hardware, design, aesthetics are great, though.

            Waiting on my xz premium!

I want XZ4 to be a mix of XZ Premium and XZ3.
Loop design, dual edge screen, same bezels of XZ3, rear panel of XZ Premium with dual cam.
                In-screen FPS.

Really excited for my XZ2 Premium :)

[deleted post]If you seek for a longer support/update go for iPhone, if you seek for a punctual security patches go for Nokia (price is more affordable than Xpecrap) or if you seek for an Android phones with more new features to be delivered for each major update and a longer support go for Samsung! Sony? Yeah you bought your phone today no doubt it looks fresh but be warned it will look exactly the same sh*t even when it meets the EOL cycle! Did I mention that they'd only support their flagship phones only for 2 years? No more no less, punctually 2 years! Junk company with a junk policy!

Dilmeet, 18 Oct 2018Sarcasm and hatred are different. If this hurt you so much,... moreThat's not sarcasm. You decided to defend the guy who tried to "dictate" that every Android manufacturer out there SHOULD customise their products otherwise their products would be worthless. And what I'm saying is, NONE out there should feel like they have such a right. Why discourage different design approaches towards Android products? I should be able to buy a high end, close-to-stock Android phone just as much as another being able to get a heavily customised one. One shouldn't try to hurt the other. The main reason that Android survived and thrived is this freedom of choice. If some people try to hurt the others' sales by spreading hatred, and others (support them as such) that's not something I could stand by and watch. We shouldn't attack each other like this....

Winston, 18 Oct 2018Keep writing comments and proving my point. As a Sony user, neither good nor bad. For a different user, same holds true. People who love simplicity will love minimal and close to stock approach, rest will loathe and laugh when one of the features from an custom skin gets adopted.

XZ4 has different design compared to Xz3.
                                      Shorter bezels.

Can anyone tell me why the Xperia XZs has been axed from this update? It was announced in feb, 2017 and I believe it was a flagship phone.
