So the Nokia 8.1 is a downgrade to Nokia 8 and 8 Sirocco, but Nokia 8.1 Plus will be the successor and main flagship from Nokia this year?? It would be the same way as in the case of Nokia 7, where the Nokia 7.1 had the weaker SD636 (vs 660 on 7 Plus) but 7.1 Plus had the more powerful SD710??
I assume, because they might be reserving the Nokia 9 for next year with the proper SD8150 and 5G capabilities, instead of rushing it this year with the SD845 which would be outdated in just a few months.

The model releases are starting to get stupid and a little xiaomi/huawei like. Lots of model variants with not alot of clear separation between them. Plus different models are released in different regions and a long delay between announcement and release.

The phones might be produced in China, but so are the iPhones.

If the 7.1pls doesnt hv a tele cam thn this will be next interesting thing. This should certainly hav ois and tele. I also it has a good amoled display unlike d poor 8 sirrocco's.

I thought, unlike other Chinese brands, HMD had a really big, but very streamlined lineup.
Now even they have started creating confusions with names. Their ".1" meant successor to the previous model, but here the 8 seems to be the better performer than the 8.1. Seems everyone is bitten by this Xiaomi/Honor bug.

What? So it seems that the number "8" has been been relegated from Nokia flagship to Nokia upper-mid range.
Anyways, I hope it will have a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot, like the original Nokia 8 and unlike the Nokia 8 Sirocco. I also hope this means the Nokia 9 will be unveiled soon.
