.alpha, 22 Oct 2018Name one thing lately that Samsung have been #1 to market. ... moreuhmm.... variable aperture in smartphone camera. let me also cite older ones- s-pen with the proprietary digitizer, smart screen scrolling and dimming, the first hd screen in smartphone, split-screen multi-tasking, heart-rate sensor in phone, and a whole lot more.

Even high end capacitive fp scanner is not quick enough to detect fp in quick succession accurately and consistently, let alone an optical scanner
Here, a better solution is the face detection, if it detect owner face, notification is shown otherwise not, not necessarily to unlock the phone

If it can authenticate you while you are using your phone, the phone will know when you are using your phone (displaying sensitive info) and when it's someone else (like a kid in your home playing favorite games). It can also be greatly implemented for multi user option in a phone, where it'll always know who is touching the phone. It can eliminate all the passwords you use on apps, gallary, payments and you can give your phone to someone else right away while you were using it. The next person will not see the sensitive information.

Samsung are patenting stuff, but then again so are Huawei...
And theres more chance of Huawei bringing new tech out while samsung is getting a bit too relaxed

Yes thx please, but lets see, Huawei start talking about same stuff, not long ago.
I think its 4 or 5 year since Sammy start talking about the foldable X variant, but its still not here yet... hope this will goes faster or even another brand could make it, if not. No matter who makes this, im sure we all will be happy.
All this, they do this and copy this and that... We customers will all win if something good being made, doesn't matter who make it, then the rest can be part in copy= innovation most often.

Camera; Galaxy A9 Star Pro quadruple cam. Bezelless screen; hello there notchless screen by Samsung. I take that anytime. 3D touch is on the home button. Side squeeze is dumbest thing ever. UD fingerprint sensor Samsung version will be more secure than the one we have today in other phone. UI is just software you can customized yourself. Welcome to android world.

Samsung patent the way to make entire screen a fingerprint reader is avoid other maker to do so but the fingerprint reader lag response and consume more battery. as usual, if only Samsung can do so, so no one can compete with them.

I think, I've seen plenty Samsung patents filed using phone designs not made by Samsung over the years. There are five or six sensors and LED's on the front of flagship Samsung devices. That won't fit inside a drop. :)
