Once again, Samsung is focusing on useful, helpful innovation and not greedy, planned obsolescence like many others.

Definitely not 1 for the notch look but I could probably be ok with the waterdrop style, definitely not he behemoth notch that the Mate 20PRo has.
Good job Samsung, keep up the quality and useful innovations.

Oh dear it sounds interesting but another wasted money for useless research which have no future.
Same old finger print reader is good enough.
Having all screen readable should be huge problem because with a fingerprint reader i can turn my screen on and off.
So if whole screen will react the whole screeen can go on or off and it will cause huge mess.

Kudos to Samsung. However I'd still think a side or front (I know. Bezels) position is still the best. A lot of people put some sort of protection for their screens. I always prefer a matte screen film for protection and to cut out glare and fingerprint smudges. I reckon under display fingerprint scanners will not allow phones to have any screen protection? Or will screens go matte and tough?

That schematic pic on the left should be concerning to Samsung fans. It clearly shows a waterdrop style notch in the screen...
Also, just as a side-note, the Vivo APEX Concept Phone had a half-screen fingerprint sensor. I think they deserve a little more credit for that than they received.
And just to clarify, i do appreciate Samsung improving the fingerprint tech. I think fingerprint sensors are just far more convenient than face-scanners.
