We never use DSLR pictures as ours, cheat on benchmark. Oh we did it before!! Come on, everybody cheats. One way or another.

I had such a bad experience with MIUI/ColorOS/EMUI that I will never buy another phone with those interfaces.

Not in an competitive market. Just like clothes..you need to show new hardware now and then.
Non compatitive you will see a slow down on hardware upgrades. Apple is a good example of non upgrading for years.. mac mini frozen in time for 4 yrs.. Mac pro also.. iPad mini. Samsung tab s 8.4 sizes etc etc.

Pretty ironic since this is coming from a company that has the 2nd worse peak performance soc for mobile devices and desperately cheat benchmarks to make them look superior to others. Then lie about how they don’t care about benchmarks.
Now you might say “but Kirin is really powerful”. Im just gonna say that they have to rely on a cheat mode(now called “performance mode”) and a gimmick called gpu turbo(which is basically some software optimization and an exclusive optimization from game developers) just to compete with other chipsets. That doesn’t sound powerful to me.

Planned obsolesence is bs.
Phones must work for as long as they could, and I highly encourage every OEM to do a minimum of 2-year interval before releasing a successor to their current top-of-the-line high end device.
Not only does the strategy allow them to have more time into making the next one a proper successor, it also helps them improve their support on their phones (less phones to update = less software optimizations need to be done).
Worry no more about the profit. If the phone is really compelling and fantastic, people would buy it with a reasonable and according price, regardless of how old it is.

So any Huawei/Honor phone before October 2016 is not part of Huawei's "born fast, stay fast" claims.

My spare phone, Huawei Ascend y530 works perfectly. It is 2014 phone, and there isn't planned obsolescence. I replaced battery only 1 time, but its still useful phone in 2018.
Samsung and Apple mustn't do that. They are increasing amounts of electronic waste.
