One issue no one talks about is with any IoS Device or even Android based tablets is that they do not support networking that Unix/Linux (including MacOS) and Windows based Laptops support. Accessing network drives complex file systems is not native to these devices. Also permissions and sharing which is required for modern enterprise usage is lacking these devices is lacking.

      Also, android devices don't get less technology, especially compared to an iOS device. Name one feature an iOS device has that no Android device has.

      Also every manufacturer gives you warranty, if there is a manufacturing error, it will be replaced within the first two years (in EU). Also have a look that the repair costs of these devices, Apple devices cost a ton to repair.

      I do agree about the privacy stuff though

        They think they're better off buying a less expensive device instead of a proper Apple device, but they're better of in that purchasing moment alone. The next second after that, their product is worth half the price they paid for it. And in the next 6 to 12 months its value will decrease to 30% of the original price. In the next 12 months after that, the price will go down to around 15-20% of the original price.

        Not to mention they get less performance, less technology, less support, less security, less updates (android devices are always 2-4 major release versions behind the current and newest version). When those devices break or they fail, the only option they have is to buy a replacement - whereas Apple will replace your device for free if the device has a manufacturing error.

        And finally, after 2 or 3 years of owning a device, the Apple one will be worth 50% of the price paid for it, while the android will be worth next to nothing - maybe 15-20%.

        On top of all these, using a phone which has google's playstore installed and other google services, means that google is making profit out of you by tracking your every action, every webpage visited, every location you've been to, every word you type, everything you watch, everything you listen to, all your comments, your emails, your photos, your voice, your typing patterns, will create a personality profile on you, and it will use it for its own agenda - which, contrary to their motto, is evil. It does not respect its users. It does not respect the people who it's based on. People who don't understand google, are fine with google's actions as they don't see any immediate negative consequences from using google and google products. But their behaviour is highly affected by google's practices, even if they don't realise it. And they get to do, think, follow trends, read, watch, listen, and buy whatever google "recommends" them. Those recommendations are based on google's maximum gain and not based on the best option for the user.

        It makes infinitely more sense to pay more for a product that retains its value and does not play Big Brother on its users than using something of less value, but with a truckload of invisible negative effects on the user.

Apple fanboys brings the concept of affordability in order to refer the non-fanboys because they think the non-fanboys or apple critics don't afford to buy apple products. Specially ""if someone likes android then surely he/she is just poor and buys cheap things"".

In fact i use iphone and ipad as my regular device for communication and media consumption. But never been fan of the company apple nor it's hater. But amount of apple user bringing up the concept of "affordability" is truly high and that makes more people hate apple.

                    I don't use a single apple product, they aren't for me. Doesn't mean I'd leave all logic behind and hate on it calling all others fanboys or sheep.

                      Gaming / Documents / Media content / Browsers / Artist

                      But it still cannot replace laptop on all functions, and use case.

                      it is its own niche market.

Go ahead buy the most expensive ipad Pro if you must brag. But make no mistake. It is not a professional device, not even a productivity device and is a far cry from being a laptop replacement which Apple blatantly seems to suggest with its faster than 92% of laptop claims plus an Apple pencil capability.

                          The fact you thought i was talking about raw power is, most comment here are about raw power which is important but not every thing.
                          My dream device is STH like surface book but the dGPU has been integrated inside the device not on doc!
                          I almost use my Surface pro without mouse and if i do need to type long text like some report i'll go by keyboard, which make writing very pleasant also this dos not mean typing on, on-screen keyboard is bad or boring.
                          And it made much more less hassle for me cause i can compile linux kernel almost everywhere which is good for my job. after all i can do a lot that are literally impossible to do by ipad bee it pro or not!

Real reason here is to show of its a12x chip, nothing else, dont forget iOS is basic mobile OS. But to port full-desktop apps Like photoshop or something more is more when welcome. I hope some game developers will port some triple aaa titles like gta 5 or something else, cause this tiny monster definitely can handle it.

                              Ofc, the surface can do more things although it's much chunkier/heavier and you need a mouse most of the time. Very different device.
                              My dream tablet is an ipad that could run both IOS and MacOS. I doubt they will ever do it, though (less profits)

                                    I recommend if you are going to quote my word do it fully not some part of it.

                                    if you look to both device yes A12X might have better raw power which i am not sure(do not trust the laptopmag that much) but surface would give you a lot of more in term of flexibility which can be seen as it's power over ipad pro.
