Samsung launches Exynos 9820 with 2 Gbps LTE modem and dedicated NPU

The chipset is based on the 8nm LPP FiNFET process.

4K150 and 8K30 would only meld down the phone before you can count from 1 up to 10.

    According to rumors Note 10 will also use a graphite battery and possibly UFS 3.0
    So the Mate 30 has a mountain to climb.

    Also right now pound for pound the Note 9 is a better phone than the Mate 20 Pro whit various advantages like much better screen, better video recoding capabilities, better speakers, even better software UI(at leas Samsung doesn't butcher Android's notification capabilities and various other functions like Huawei's skin), Bluetooth stylus, headphone jack, a standard SD card slot etc.

          Also, while the Apple A12 chipset might be a behemoth in benchmarks. I would give the victory to Samsung Exynos because it is far ahead in feature set. Samsung is really pushing the boundaries this time!

              "8K@30fps" I've been wondering since a while how long it will take before 8K video recording is possible on our phones, and this is a few years earlier than i expected. This is honestly a big deal, much bigger deal than Apple introducing 4K@60fps recording last year.

              But in order to make 8K recording possible, one of the cameras would need to be 40MP one like Huawei, because 8K video is recorded at around 33 Megapixels (4K was recorded at a mere 8 Megapixels). We can expect to see 40MP sensors on all flagships going forward because they would need to compete with Samsung.

              All in all, I'm thrilled. I'm not a Samsung fan, but i give major props to Samsung for taking the next big step in smartphone camera scene. Bravo!

                And last I checked the Exynos 9810 competed with the Kirin 970.

                Also the Exynos 9820 should be faster than the Kirin 980 according to the numbers quoted from Samsung. So the 9820 should score in GB, 4400 point in single core and 1200 point in multicore. Thta's better than the Kirin 980.

                          Samsung already has Eynos 5100 modem which is Industry first 5G modem.
                          So finger crossed for S10 launch.

                                Much like how the Mate 20 Pro is beating the Note9 and S9+ in Battery and CPU tests right now, the Mate30 will beat the Note10 as the Note10 will be using this already old 8nm Exynos9820.

                                  You seem to dislike Huawei, but there is nothing wrong in admitting that Samsung have fallen behind here.

                                      SD845 can record 4K HDR 10.

                                      A12, Karin 980 and this exynos cannot... All still stuck with SDR video.

All phones with this mode can't use EIS, that's why the videos are very shaky. OIS alone cannot do the job..

                                        For example Full HD 30 does not use whole sensor, then you can apply great EIS... 4K needs more of the sensor that's why all phones have better EIS in 1080 than 4K.
                                        The 4K 60 is too much for the software to do both recording and stabilizing...

                                        By the way, XZ4 Premium will be for sale in March. 4K HDR OLED, dual selfie, 2nd generation Aube, 5G and new Snapdragon.
