The phones based on this Snapdragon and the Exynos will have half the battery life and will be used in Power Save Mode mostly anyway.

XDA forums is full of Battery life complaints for every Snapdragon and Exynos phone, while we use the Huawei's in Performance Mode all day with over 2days battery life's easily.

I'm simply stating that due to the super duper fast charging and big a$$ battery that they should have boosted the performance to even compete with the A12, not worrying about the already old SD845. They didn't utilize the opportunity they had and I'm stating my opinion on the matter.

I actually agree with you yes benchmarks are useless for "normal" users but they give you a good glimpse of what the chips are capable I mean yeah at the end of the day you won't notice if you have a Exynos 9810/SD845/A12/Kirin 980 on Snapchat I feel that the best thing right now is that SoC manufacturers focus on improving the efficiency and the thermals of the chips I mean I dont need a 30% speed upgrade I'd rather have no speed increase or a 10% and then a 30% in power efficiency and then also focus more on optimization. Good hardware gets easily crumbled by bad software

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2018Kirin 980 stays fast overtime unlike qualcomms cheap chipsI sure hope that the 6 months it's been out is hasn't lost any speed, that would fit in entirely with the 'cheap chinese' product category. And before you get your panties in a bunch I'm not saying it's 'cheap chinese', I think it's 'overpriced chinese'.

              Beautiful. °-°

This year, actually i rather buy nokia 8 for no more then 300€ with snapdragon 835 then any other device out there. Price, performance quallity are all there and people have to be blind not to see it. But wait. It does not sound good right., oh, i mean 835? Now tell me, people look at that? Nope, they look at numbers, if people would think more there would have not been such prices like 1600 for a phone whos performance is based on benchmarks....

MadMel, 15 Nov 2018here is the fun part of K980... https://www.phonearena.com... moreSo the only benefit of the Kirin980 chip is the battery life? Why cripple performance with saving battery life when the phone has the super duper fast charger and a CRAZY huge battery???
Looks like someone is grasping to make their preferred phone still relevant.

IDontKnow1717, 15 Nov 2018Yup personally I like Exynos more than Snapdragon SoC's but... moreThey axtually mean a lot. Day to day experience of a normal user, would he feal the difference? Nope, would be the answer. Would he's pocket feel the difference? hell yeah! But anyway, at the end, you are eight, the power is to be noticed when doing heavy stuff, on smartphone? Nothing else but games, but that is with a twist too. Not all games are optimized for this type of hardware and on ios games are better optimized for the system then on android. Also, benchmarks apps are better optimized, so actually all this virtual benchmarks and so on and so forth are rubbish. At the end, tge user experience is what metter and of course the system and it's apps. I can do an app that runs on the best hardware ever as slow as a snail... so 80% gimmiks 20% power.
