LG patents a phone with 16 cameras and the software to use them

26 November 2018
Arranged in a 4x4 array, the cameras will be angled so they capture the scene from different perspectives, which can be stitched together.

Judging by their current battery sizes this phone definitely won't do 960 FPS with all those cameras. The battery will run out before it reaches one second!

    Those are rookie numbers

Great idea, I got such a long before though, good to see someone finally tries. This depending on hw, could make phone to wield apsc like sensor in a thin body. Depends on fov of its cameras, also if aperture is like f2.4 or more, it would make shots also more sharp, like on galaxy phones.

It seems over kill and the arrangement doesn't look attractive at all. I dont have a Nokia but at least the Pentia and its arrangement looks stylish and classy. The rear speaker is not a bad idea. When i see 16 cameras, the more i like the Pixel 3. Simple, delightfully uncomplicated and classy. It does enough with the camera to satisfy i would assume, the majority of needs. Anyone can pick anything to death if they look hard and close enough .. but that is unnecessary

What a brilliant concept. Yes this is LG not Apple that does nothing and still people and the media is cheering for them.

              This is ridiculous.

Only 16 cameras? Pfft, give me at least 100+. The whole back of the phone should be covered with cameras. There should also be at least 20 camera holes on the front so we can take 20 selfies from different angles at the same time...

Oh, and the design should be modular like the G5, so we can add another 100+ cameras if we want...

                /sarcasm

Light L16 cost $2000 with mediocre specs apart from the camera though.

they cant be bothered doing research and development into a single sensor..so lets put 5 million cameras on the back and call it improving the camera
