Samsung and Apple have suddenly been stormed by these lower costing Chinese phones that offer some great features. Samsung, unlike Apple has 2 distinct advantages, expandable storage and headphone jack. I hope Samsung doesn't remove the headphone jack but rather REINVENTS it l. It can make a small point about 1/8 of an inch at the bottom like the Lighting Port, much like a cross between a magnetic charging cable on the MacBook pro and the Lighting cable on iPhones, but with only 1/2-1/4th the depth of lighting port (and Much Higher data speeds). It could have a magnetic port and be small and circular like a headphone Mic socket.

People who dislike Samsung, incorrectly associated with Apple. Samsung offers SO MUCH MORE (Excellent Heaphones or Wireless Charger free in the box, high speed charhing cable as standard in all S and Note and so many other smartphone boces, free expandable storage via SD, dual SIM the longest, 15-30Gb of frwe Samsung and Google Cloud, headphone jack, limitless cusomerziable UI and themes, etc etc).

Samsung needs a few more people in its design and strategy team to ensure that they separate themselves from the rest of the Android (and iPhone) Pack. They also need to collaborate with NVIDIA for their GPUs. They also need to design their next batch of Smartphone Sensors.

Huawei paving the way, their Night Mode is still the best

I think my S8 takes just as good pics as what I've seen posted for the Pixel, Huawei and almost every other device. My wife's S9 takes really good pics and I see minor detail improvements over my S8.
And then there's some people that just don't like Samsung because they are expensive so they are negative about every aspect.

One of the BIGGEST issues with Samsung is Open API. That is a big issued with Developers. I hope Samsung sorts that out so that people are able to use Apps to their full potential instead of being limited to QuadHD for video recordings or watercolour type of HDR for photos (for non-Samsung Photo and Video apps).
              OR
Make a sure Flat Log profile to compete against the likes of FilmicPRO and Cinema4k, with various bitrate options and LOG Profiles.

More than anything else, I hope it has a good choice of camera sensor. The main sensor and the other too, should each be a powerhouse of functions. The Dual Pixel in the S7 had perforated in many devices, so Samsung should always stay a little ahead of the competition in terms of features of the sensor.

AnonD-731363, 21 Dec 2018What savage i am serious man. Brighten up pictures vs Night Mode/Sight is way way different things.

                            Brighten up
                            - Overexposed, blown highlights, white clippings, lost details, artifacts, noisier grain that can feed the whole village.

                            Night Mode/Sight
                            - Image stacking + long exposure using handheld without the needs of tripod, will results without the cons i mentioned above.

Those 2 are big different things.

4 cameras is too much for a phone. Way too gimmicky, IMO. Just another reason to skyrocket the prices. One lens is enough and if the hardware is good, can do great photos/videos.

Josh, 21 Dec 2018None of them comes near Huawei Night mode!!From the Pixel 3 and Mate 20 Pro photo shootout I think they are tied, not one is actually better than the other. Some pics have more detail for one and less for the other, but in other pics it was opposite.
No clear definitive winner in my eyes.
