24 December 2018
We visited the R&D center in Beijing where Honor officials explained in details the technology.

My P6 is still up till this time and we shall never forget that only Huawei and and ZTE were the brands who brings us all those usb internet dongles and and unquestionable quality routers, modems, portable wifi and more. Linksys to name a few are nowhere and just starting to popped up when the infrastructure had been widely used and become the global norms. Simply, this brand is legendary !!!

Check out Huawei past History. They brag about everything. Being the first on 7nm, the faster chip, the first with an NPU, the first with blablabla... but never being true.

And again, Huawei does not even have a product yet!

Why is GSM Arena stooping to this level, repeating paragraphs of lies?
This is clearly IP theft. Plain and simple. Huawei didn't survey anything, they didn't research anything, they just copied what Samsung presented.

How did you know Huawei had the idea "after" Samsung presented? Is it possible that Huawei didn't want to release the info before the product was complete? When samsung felt so good presenting the idea, Huawei was already busy on testing the prototype in the lab. Look at the product completion of A8s and Nova 4. Clearly Huawei spent more time on thinking about the design than Samsung did.

Samsung's lawsuit had nothing to do with the punch hole display. It was about flexible display.

If there was a prototype (as always), they or anyone else, could just fast copy the same design, specially having the blueprints.

And Huawei loves to brag. If they indeed make this for themselves, it would be easy to 1) present it first (an actual product, not that weird prototype inside a case), and 2) actually put it on sale before and not being just a "future product" that may or not come out this year on limited quantities.

The only fact we know for sure is that Huawei "had this idea" after Samsung presented their "infinity O" screens line up.

That corner hole placement doesnt change anything except the price is going to be higher. Its simply marketing gimmick which will allow to put the price up. Slider selfie camera is the prefect solution.
The screen itself should not have any holes.
