It would be sad for Sony, an old player to leave the mobile phone market. Japanese have a bad marketing strategy. They had a lot of good companies, like(I am saying the ones who are no longer in the mobile phone business) Panasonic, Nec, Casio, Hitachi, Toshiba. All of them are out because of bad strategy and they did not want to conquer overseas markets(OK Sharp did try, but not hard).

In fact, 21:9 is good for nothing (In a phone).

I think sony is not in position to innovate or experiment something with screen ratio.Right now sony should follow market trend and reconsider its pricing strategy

Sony should listen to their fanboys(I am not a fanboy, but I like Sony, and I have a deep respect for Japan). If a company does not listen to their customers, they could be in trouble.

But then you look at the rather unattractive back...
Then again, that didn't stop the Note9 from selling (just got one!!!), with those asymmetrical cameras.

If you're not going to do 16:9 that's ideal for video and games, then go all the way and do 21:9, which is ideal for cinema and some games. And NO NOTCH.

I don't get it...if it doesn't have a headphone jack, what's that circular hole next to the USB-C port? Not the speaker grille but the other side? I feel like it may have the jack.

Mr Magma, 31 Dec 2018I just realized I replied to the wrong comment before lol. ... moreXZ3 use 18:9 screen, with a thicker bezels. This XZ4 use 21:9 screen, but with a lot thinner bezels. If its using the same 6" screen size, maybe the body size of the phone will be the same? Well maybe just a bit taller.

Me: The hole on the bottom case is big enough to be a Headphone Jack. C'mon!
Also me: I guess I'm looking forward for the next cameraphone with flagship chipset and a headphone jack. I hope Huawei Mate 30 has a >40MP 1/1.x camera because Huawei makes a dick move like this where the 3.5mm jack is a sacrificial component for the best Quad-Bayer camera sensor available.

Motherboard and all the inside... moreYeah, maybe but Sharp somehow managed to squeeze everything into R2 Compact, even if the result was a dual-notch haha. The bottom one's for fingerprint sensor that Sony fits on the sides or backs though, so there's that. Sony's engineering pedigree is certainly not worse than Sharp's so I'd lean to bezels as a conscious design decision.
