One of them has a better audio processing, larger image sensor, and whole different design than its competitors.

For the price that it costs it offers a lot more premium things than the SD845. Take one, use it and then tell me that it feels cheap...

The 16:9 screen is far better balanced.
I only upgraded to the S9+ because of a carrier deal and the hype and marketing far exceeds the reality so far as screen size and edges.
It is far to thin and long.

I ended up getting a S9+ in Australia only because of the carrier deal.
Frankly, even an 18:9 screen is a pain, far too long, too thin, and the round edge screen is over rated.
So we are looking at longer again - good luck with that, something one cannot even put in their pocket.
I prefer the old 16:9 screen size and with a little protection around the edges.

A lot of movies these days are 21:9 instead of 16:9, for example when I got my PC 21:9 screen I watched Zootopia on it with no bars. I've been thinking that maybe 21:9 makes a lot of sense on phones, both for reading bushels of text and for watching some movies.
Actually using it will tell the story for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a perfect form factor both for horizontal and vertical use. Though the Sony is a bit too big.

Generating antutu scores is the most useless thing I can imagine since they don't correlate well with real world usage. If they decide to market this phone as a media centric device they should ensure an excellent hdr screen (not just resolution but good colours, brightness etc), hifi sound with great fidelity and a good battery. The snapdragon 855 can take care of the rest.

People who are concerned about a phone's height need to give their heads a shake. It's the width of the phone that affects how you hold it, not the height. Regardless of how tall, if the phone is too wide, it's difficult to hold, and the Z4 is too wide, like all phablets.

Looks like 2019 will also be a terrible year for smartphones
