The bezels at top would be better than both notches and holed screen as it won't disrupt the image while watching videos or playing games, it won't even cut a picture in full display viewing

why they don't consider a version without selfie cam?
I guess at least third of the buyers do not care about it.
Just make whole screen version without a selfie cam and consider pricing it little cheaper (les components) and it will sell well.

Those punch hole type phone will have serious security under quiet room condition. Someone can hear clearly the conversation from your phone earpiece indirectly.

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2019Why did you show 1+6T and use in calculation 1+6?Because 6 has small notch and 6T has waterdrop notch

How about stop selling defective screens ... Notch or hole still a blemish and defective...

Lets hope any kind of these solutions will soon be forgotten by history. Asymetrical, in any way, axis, screens are such a pain form design standpoint. i would rather take a tiny bump for front facing camera than any notch or punchhole.

both are stupid design. they give no benefit especially if the phone still has wide bottom bezel.
I don't mind having some top and bottom bezel such as s9 i am using now.
even a 16:9 with on screen navigation button is actually great. i used sony z1 compact in the past and it was just fine.

i prefer camera on the thin bezel, sometime thick or thin bezel isn't matter for me as long as the design is good, and for the bezel, perhaps its better if they put bezelless on side, but still thin or thick bezel on top/bottom, like XA2 plus is still good design

no disrespect for a person that wrote this article but when you mentioned "some find it ugly"...
well peaople hate having a big notch in the middle of their displays that does nothing to even create an illusion of bigger screen.

Punch hole gives a slightly asymmetrical look but then are the pictures we take.
This is perfect example of mirror curving idea and its more appealing from fashion point of view.

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2019To be honest there's no difference with punch-hole and wate... moreThe hole will look a lot better while watching videos, playing games, checking pictures etc.

I prefer phone with thin top and bottom bezels, may be stereo front speakers on their place. Without glory..,punch holes, notches, tear drops and other bullsh*ts..

                          I thought notches where bad.

But a hole in the screen??
                          It would drive crazy.

I'd rather live without a selfie camera than this.
At least the notch you could kinda hide, but that hole would always stare directly at me, especially when watching videos.
It's like having a piece of dirt on your screen that you can not wipe off.
Just crazy how people can like such a thing.

As the bezels have shrunk, the phones have not gotten more compact, but in fact have gotten taller, thanks to the recent fascination with extraaa-wide aspect ratio.

Personally, i would prefer a 18:9 display with smalll bezels on all sides. I am using LG V30+, and it is just perfect in this aspect.

Yo guys I got this super amazimg phone! Its just the right size for pocketability, 5.5", it has no notch, no punch hole, and no annoying rounded corners that steals screen real-estate.

It's called the S7 edge, and its super fast too still.. buy it second hand and save yourself $800 compared to the S10 or Xs... thank me later

                                It's the same.

Notch or hole, I find both ugly.

just bring back thin bezels w/ dual firing stereo speakers and 5 inch display, it would be nice

Simply we don't need a notch or punch hole... it's both crap...

all we need is under display selfie camera... start inventing sh*t better than copying other's sh*t.
