Apple never introduced anything resembling a foldable device and is patenting plans? I mean, this is sick misuse of patents in its peak. They have had no real introduction and seemingly no interest in it, only requesting patents without detailed ideas. It is outrageous as this will only story developing new tech due someone sketching and block others to try to make something progressive - or pay a cut. Outrageous.

Patent laws should seriously be reviewed and revised. All these companies are patenting designs to make $$$ from supposed infringements on things that aren't even existing. Patents should only be given to those who first make actual working prototypes and not those who submit drawings to avoid patent trolls.

I’m assuming you didn’t read the article either but a patent concept was filed in 2011. It’s not unlikely that it evolved from a much older patent either.
