I would like to buy a flagship phone that only has that 4.6” screen. That would be true compact flagship! Why I didn`t see it announced at the same time as those other phones. One just have to wonder...

Next year, VIvo, Oppo, Huawei etc etc will have same or even better foldables at 25% cost of Galaxy F. Good innovation but i personally find it ugly looking.

Wow! I see lots of Apple fans are commenting here.
All of you avoided comparing this phone to Apple's iPhone XS Max 512 GB. You all compared it to used cars and other much cheaper non-foldable Android phones.
For 500$ more you get: +0.8" display, +8 GB RAM, +340 MHz CPU, same storage, same camera,...
And most of all, you get the newest foldable phone and not something it was seen years ago and shows no major inovation.

          Not-ch again!!!

Hope they ckeep Note series with good innovation and price rationalization... Considering Galaxy Fold is their new flagship which is the most expensive! I don't mind keeping Fold series high priced while substantially reduce prices of Note series. I don't think I can spend that much for Note henceforth

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2019Seriously. Why is the screen so small (when folded)? Tha... moreIt's not tiny it's 4.6" in 21:9 ratio. When folded the actual width of the device is like iPhone SE about 55mm but it's about 165mm tall. In order to cover that area it would need 30:10 aspect display which doesn't exists right now.

I think Samsung got it right. You go from compact phone to small tablet. I think that is a lot more practical and logical than going from phablet 6.5" big size phone into 10" regular 3:2 sized tablet. You don't get much really, you go from big to a bit bigger.

Only $2k??? This is an insult. I'm not buying it. FFS, the S10 costs almost $1.5k, this should be at least $4k. Why Samsung, why???

I see, I need to have foldable phone to have bigger notch and more cameras on it, got it. 6 cameras is just enough for every side.

Wow, it really is $1,980 for a fancy plastic screened android device! For the same amount, one can actually buy:
                                1. A $300, SD 845 Pocophone smartphone,

                                2. A $230, 10.8" QHD LTE Chuwi android tablet with dual sim, 64GB internal storage and card expansion,

                                3. A $1,000 65" 4K UHD SAMSUNG smart TV,

--- and still have $66 left for a sumptuous dinner for two!

Ok, ok. I get it. The bragging rights is priceless! Never mind if the folding screen novelty quickly fades away, or the plastic screen having touch sensitivity issues or the folded and unfolded configurations too cumbersome and too small screened to be truly immersive, productive and enjoyable. After all, it's bragging rights above everything. Image and prestige over true function, usability and substance, right? Maybe next time, Samsung. Until then, I won't be interested in $1,980 folding phones that are too small to be a phone - or a tablet.
