I would be surprised if it doesn't win MKBHD style blind camera test, even against some ILCs. Very impressive.

          So much noise everywhere.
          Hopefully, it's just web/jpeg compression.

I love how most of these comments have no idea in photography and are mostly keyboard phone nerds. The DR seems incredible (although obviously edited), since I doubt these are SOOC JPEG's. However if the raw files have this much detail, it's incredible. My S9+ does terribly even in forecast weather and when editing its raw images (when exposed for 18% gray) I lose highlight detail (which becomes gray) and shadow detail becomes extremely noisy. Plus this phone has ToF sensors which aren't common at the moment (except S10 5G and the new LG), which can do wonders for Out Of Focus and bokeh rendition which looks incredibly fake even on the best of smartphone cameras such as the Pixel 3 or iPhone.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2019There is no 48MP monochrome available 1/2" is too big t... moreMy real cameras, including DSLR has OIS, so the lack of OIS due to the size of the sensor is not true. Better that you carry a tripod and an stabilizer arm depending what you want to achieve with this phone, aside the move yourself always "if possible" to take the photo in the right place as you don't have zoom of any type. Too much comprimises i see in this phone. And to achieve that, lose battery life, lose audio jack, lose o FM radio, etc. For gain what? Some still photos? You'll even have a hard work to take a photo from an object in movement without the stabilization.

Honestly, the quality of the photos sucks in my opinion. The photos taken at the market are not sharp and looks like out of focus. Quite a low noise on other hand.

exactly what i feel multiple cameras must do instead of having every lens work separately and do a separate thing

more lenses better image for the same click

I hope video quality is equally good. But maybe in video the data isn't joined because it isn't possible doing it 30 or 60 times a second.

1/2" is too big to use OIS.
That is why OIS is seen with 1/2.5" or smaller.

Those photos look unspectacular to say the least.

When zooming in there isn't much detail.
The dynamic range is OK, but I think Google pixel or the latest IPhone already equals or surpasses this.

The moving shots don't look sharp at all.

A proper big sensor would have better.

It feels like some detail is lost in postprocessing, more in close-ups, not much just about 1mp. Still, it's better than having digital noise like in some brands. Would be great to compare hdr and very low light or even sharpness when shooting with objects in a different distance, but gsma got just bright and low light samples in tool... Anyway the best way is to compare.

Last night ive been trying to convince myself to grt pixel 3 xl + battery case. Been using htc u11 with pixel 3 apk cam n the photos it take just amazing. My wife is not even happy with her note9pics, n ive been busy trying to look for apk that works for note 9 but couldnt.

Anyway, almost made my decision but couldnt stand the ugly design. Ill stick with my u11 for now.

uses 5 camera to take picture yet cannot record 4k video with 60fps. I guess just for the 5 camera, they remove the headphone jack, SD card slot and reduce the battery size to a smaller version. Worst part of all is they always use the older version of snapdragon for their flagship phone while other companies already offered the latest version. Guess nokia still have a lot way to go
