Panino Manino, 24 Feb 2019Anyway, as always the illiterate biased plebes are exaggera... moreIt won't match the 808 is pure detail but it should match or surpass it in almost every other way. Especially speed, focus, dynamic range, and hopefully not be bad with processing.

It might not have wide-angle, but boy oh boy, that is some serious quality right there. Nokia nailed it once again!

Ohhh now I know why Nokia didn't use any fancy words for his smartphone camera. Pictures speak itself. Huge respect from myself to HMD/Nokia.

I'll wait for more. I still think $600 would have been a fair price for the overall package. The comments are...yeah

A TOF sensor based on the old smalsensor sensor technology used in credit card sized cameras, can get over 20 stops dynamic range single shot I think. So it is interesting which TOF chip this uses. I can't remember the name of the present company who has their technology though.

Homer-Simpson, 24 Feb 2019Disappointing phone to be the Nokia's flagship.
For exam... moreWell, if specs is all you are interested in, fine, the LG might be better. I don't care about 10% higher Antutu score or 5G no-one can use it for a few years.
But i want the best camera possible and this seems to be a good candidate at a reasonable price.

All the official HMD photos by HMD look stunning but also edited from the RAW-version.
However, the pictures you guys at GSMarena took, as well as the samples from other news sites that got their hands on the new phone, look mediocre at best. Editing the RAW-pics might help here but if that is the standard to go by, the 9 Pureview is severely disappointing.
Also, you really shouldn't zoom in on any pictures with the phone as the resolution is quite low and there is not even a Tele lens to make up for it... :/

The anon below solved the mystery, but still is a bit strange that this codename appeared in more recent pictures among the Light and Behold codenames. This makes it looks suspicious.

Looks like every flagship's camera to me. Most likely another flop for Nokia with the outdated SD845, no headphone jack and average battery life with premium price

EskeRahn, 24 Feb 2019Remember that the 1020 including the hump was MUCH thicker.... moreThe camera is big in the 1020 but the xenon flash made the eye more bulky. Oh i miss that camera.

Guys .... Photo tool has samples of s10+.
They are worse than s9+. The low light shots use iso 400 but look as bad as iso3200.

Anyway, as always the illiterate biased plebes are exaggerating.
For me this is good enough, it achieves what they tried to achieve.
Results could be a bit better in some areas (the position of the sensor was cosmetic and probably don't help with the processing) but they will certainly improve along the year with updates.
What bothers me more, now that I thing about this, is the software. The "Pro" mode there is laughably. They really didn't put options like saturation, contrast, sharpening, noise reduction, shadows, etc? Why not put these option in the camera interface allowing the user to take the photos at his tastes instead and having to edit every raw?
And certainly, this don't deserve the "PureView" seal of quality in it's original form, no one deserves besides from the 808.
