I personally don't care about wireless charging, BUT OnePlus needs to stop with the excuses. Xiaomi has 20W wireless charging with its Mi 9. OnePlus is hilarious. Warp Charge isn't as fast as SuperVOOC from the sister company Oppo OR Huawei's 40W supercharge. Even the Moto G7 Plus has 27W fast charging. Their charging technology is no longer a unique feature in this space.

With current feature set getting a one plus device is waste of money I am a one plus 6 user and I would rather buy a LG V series phone after 6 months rather than getting a one plus device which have average build quality, bad speaker, average camera, lacks IP68 rating,FHD display and the list goes on

T M, 27 Feb 2019Who cares, none of the cafes, restaurants, cars, etc are us... moreA lot of 2019 model cars are now incorporating wireless charging pads into the interior. But yes, I'm guessing the tata nano still doesn't offer this hence you're upset.

#bringbackthe3.5mm jack please on OnePlus 7

So basically they have the glass back for pointless reasons. Also, eliminating 3.5mm jack didn't really lead to bigger batteries - based on AnandTech review. Samsung instead still managed to keep 3.5mm with significantly bigger batteries. Remember, OnePlus 6T has already reached twice the price of OnePlus 1. They are still stuck on FullHD+ and camera department still lacks - specially given the gimmicky second camera.
I have owned the first OP1 in India, followed by OP3 but won't call myself a fan anymore. Essential PH-1 impressed me; so did Pixel 2 XL vs OP6. S10e would really hit OP7 - assured!

T M, 27 Feb 2019Who cares, none of the cafes, restaurants, cars, etc are us... moreGimmick or not, the fact remains: It's still missing in a OnePlus phone but IS present in a Xiaomi phone.
That's a BIG disadvantage to OnePlus...

Reviewers will not criticize oneplus for this and say its okay because oneplus is cheaper than most flagships. But i would say thats bs because oneplus is not cheap anymore. I want a bang for the buck device but that seems not likely from a oneplus this year. Xiaomi for me then!

Domestoboto, 27 Feb 2019Once more, a 20W wireless charger exists because of Xiaomi ... moreWho cares, none of the cafes, restaurants, cars, etc are using that fast charging tech so the benefits are moot. Wireless charging is just a mediocre gimmick.

Now that phones have all day battery life. Most people just charge it overnight when they get home. Wireless charging just let you drop it, no need to fuss wires.
Wired charging becomes just an emergency gadget, paired with a power bank.
Anything that breaks user's habits will result in complains and fuss. Just like the loss of Jack.

Why do people have to hassle and fuss about wireless charging so much? 1. It's slow. 2. Heat. And 3. You can't use it while it's charging. And yet people are STILL screaming and shouting at companies that don't have these features. Why do people want this yet-to-be-improved piece of technology? And not to mention that it costs more to ADD this feature in to the phone!

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2019Don't understand why wireless charging is important for som... moreNot to mention that a lot of cars now have Wireless Charging pads, this means no need for using USB cables dangling in the car (and some new cars don't even have easily accessible USB or 3.5mm ports).
There's also the fact that wireless charging is becoming mainstream in a lot of cafe's and restaurants. It makes no difference to charging speed when you are going to bed. Plus there are even Power Banks with wireless charging built in.
This means you can potentially extend your battery life (if you're a heavy gamer, photographer, blogger) by "trickle charging" it throughout the day.
- Although I would gladly give up Wireless Charging for SuperVOOC (50W dual-battery).
- And I would gladly give up Removable Batteries for proper IP68 waterproofing.
- And I would gladly give up Glass Backs (slippery, fragile, smudge magnet) for something actually sensible and durable like Kevlar.... Especially if it means trading a 6mm curved glass sandwich phone with 3,000mAh slow charging, to a 9mm flat glass-titanium-kevlar phone with 5,000mAh fast charging.
