Possible Huawei P30 Pro camera samples posted by company's product manager

The photos show a new 5G cell tower installed in Barcelona by Huawei and Vodafone. And they go up to 5x telephoto, 10x with digital zoom.

These shots are way overprocessed. No detail in them, blurry, smudgy and not at all appealing.

Windows is a terrible mobile OS and a worse ecosystem, Microsoft acquired Nokia for a while to try and revive Windows phones' market share, it backfired spectacularly. Very shameful years for a company of Nokia's stature.

Hope these aren't actual photos from a Huawei P30 Pro. They look terrible. You can't even see the details on the faces of the people in the background.

And they were taken in daytime. The quality will be worse in the evening, under low-light conditions.

Mate 10 camera was ruined badly after Pie update. Before that I've taken very nice pics with it (about 3k), many close in quality to my L1020 wich I still carry on my holidays.

You can take multiple shots too with L950, until the "queue" of processing stops you. I remember it was 5 or 6 pics max.

Nick Tagataka, 28 Feb 2019I guess you're mixing up the shutter lag and time taken to ... moreOkay, I see your point. I just usually take like 10-20 shot when I have to snap a moving object to be sure one is good, still better than verifying each shot after taking it, even with quick camera. And if it missed and it was this important, well, shouldn't have used a phone is the first place.
Camera on Lumia 950XL did have long procesing time sometime, and prevented from taking another shot when processing the previous one. It was boring since I couldn't take multiple shots. But if it's all processed in background, multipliying the shots would do the trick I think. Well, we'll see the tests and reviews. And I'll be sure to test myself with the 14 days we have here to legally to send it back at will after buying something online.
What I know for sure is that I'm sick of the over processed photos from my Huawei mate 10 pro, and now I'll be extra cautious with this kind of thing, and I will not believe reviewers and youtuber without testing myself (yeah...amazing mate 10 pro that can't do anything right with it really good sensor, a shame).

Hildr, 28 Feb 2019Dunno where you saw this, but snap a photo is almost instan... moreI guess you're mixing up the shutter lag and time taken to take a photo. There's almost no shutter lag on Nokia 9, but it takes very, very long time to actually "take" the photo, or save the image data into the storage. This can be a huge problem as this means that you cannot tell whether the photo you took is on focus or not until the camera finishes processing it. Sure, relatively deep depth of field allows it to virtually refocus on the subject and set the blur from the area you have tapped, Huawei phones had the same feature since P9. But what if the entire scene was slightly out of focus and there was nothing you can fix? Or what about an object coming towards you or moving away from you rapidly, without any advanced tracking autofocus mechanism, it can be quite difficult to take a sharp photo of the moving object, and in that case virtual "refocusing" simply wouldn't help. People complained about how on Nexus 5X and 6P images are processed very slowly, but this one requires even longer time.
My original point still stands: if it takes that long to produce and show a full resolution photo, then I wouldn't say t's suited for professionals let alone average consumer who just want to take a snap, check the photo and put back their phone into a pocket. Nokia at least should give users a toggle to switch off the image fusion in case they don't want to wait too long for pictures to be saved.

that wide angle photo looks awful, phone manufacturers should put more effort into making better glass elements for their cameras or using bigger sensors to capture more detail and less noise. I will stick with my full frame dslr with my 12-24mm lens for wide angle photos...

We can see that on a lot of videos. It sure takes time to swap between photo modes (something like 5sec) and you have to wait the 2-10 s to see the full processed photo once taken.
But nothing prevent you to take you phone, snap 2,3, 10 photos quickly then put it back in your pocket, the process will be done in background and you will be able to use you photo in the minute. OFC, it's probably not the best phone if you just want to snap a shot to instantly put it on social media, but it was never intended to be it, and a P30 like this is more suited for this.
But in other side, the awesome (said reviewer/Dx0) at its time mate 10 pro can't even take a shot of people without doing an oïl paint effect. Some like it, some like me dislike it and don't even bother to use their phone as a camera anymore. In the end, it's just a matter of taste and people should start to stop bothering comparing their things to know who is the better. There is only two side on the market, sellers and consummers.
