Who else has a 14... moreLol it's so foolish to see people defending Samsungs premium in the name of QHD displays and UD fingerprint scanners. None justify the 50 percent premium over the Chinese. QHD and FHD on the small screens are not much of a difference also the QHD sucks more battery than the FHD and the UD fingerprint scanner I would say definitely a gimmick to suck more money the rear ones worked perfectly also the UD fingerprint scanner has issues as per gsmarena check the full review.
But yeah it's tough to argue with fanboys especially of the big brands like Samsung, Apple, etc.
Theses days the only reason to go with Samsung are the headphone jack and Micro SD card slots the rest are plain gimmicks like the HDR 10+, UD scanner, etc. Samsung are pretty much exploiting people by charging double the premium for some useful features and useless gimmicks.

A flagship phone today will be a entry or mid range phone in a few years
I tried the Blackberry 10 which comes with 2Gb of ram, the soon to be released Samsung A10 is also 2Gb so Blackberry Z10 2013 flagship specs are here albeit Android
Apple iPhone sell pre owned 2 years old still sell
All Apple did was to increase screen size indeed the trend for flagship was increasing screen size from 4 inches to 6 inches and camera Mega Pixel
An upgrade for me and many is 5G and articles like this are interesting but the phone review is mire important
Apple I understand has a strict policy on mark up, so even if Apple and Samsung phones have similar prices Apple iPhones lack the same specs, 10 years in and still no memories expansion
I like that fact they Xiaomi, Huawei etc. are as successful as they are as this holds Android phones from price rises, Apple and Google Pixel are immune to low prices

Didnt Apple use Samsungs Amoled and they increased the price over 100 dollars alone?
There's a good 5-10 features the S10 has over those chinese 500 dollars smartphones.
Anyways if the S10 are too pricey as you say there's always the S10e or buy the previous years flagship like S9 or Note 9 which are even cheaper.

So are we paying 400 to 500 USD premium for things like Headphone Jack, memory expansion and waterproofing ?
That's completely unethical on part of the companies and stupidity of the consumers. These devices don't deserve more than 700 USD including Apple, Google, LG and Sony. LG and Sony are suffering low sales but still they have not learnt the lesson.
The S10 series and even the ones LG showed at MWC are great devices no denying in that but they are not at at all worth the 50 percent premium over the Chinese flagships like Mi9, One Plus, etc.

Most of them bought this phone through inclusion in their cellular plan and they only pay a small part of it every month (well the total is still even greater due to the plan pricing but people never mind this, what they think is that they still pay the same with the old phone so better yet upgrade). This tactic is used just to make people bleed more money than they used to when they only buy the cellular plan without new phone. OFC, this phone will be much cheaper when bought in bulk which a carrier will buy in millions.

I played with the s10+ in the samsung store in London yesterday and in no way did they feel plastic like as you say on the frame, which is btw barely minimal, the device looks and feels fantastic, and compared to my note 9 looks very next level, and a good bit smaller, slimmer and thinner, as well as way lighter, im getting the green which looks wonderful, are you sure you wasnt looking at the A series or other models?

so that would be actual price not 1000+
