I've had flagships such as the HTC One X and iPhone 5s, then hit rock bottom and traded what was already a defective 5s for a Huawei P8 + another 100 euros. Because at that time I was barely making 500 euros a month, while also having to pay rent. Then I was stupid enough to break the P8 in such ways that it wasn't covered by warranty. However I was lucky enough to manage buying the OnePlus 3 in 12 monthly instalments without interest (that's around 33 euros a month for 12 months). And in that time while owning the OP3, my career slowly took off. So when it was time to upgrade the OP3, I was finally making enough cash to get a Note9. My first proper flagship in too many years. Having known what it's like to make sacrifices, I cherish it and try not to take it for granted. But if I were to hit rock bottom again, I'd have no problem going back to the likes of a Pocofone F1.

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2019Brother Samsung hugely invest on R&D and Advertisement.... moreThese devices don't deserve higher than 700 USD and they are like selling it for 1000 USD in the name of R&D. Don't know what makes you think the S10 plus is worth 1000 bucks. Lol. Just waste of money and nothing else. The Chinese are giving you 90% of the S series features for a price less than 50% of the Galaxies and Apples and the Pixels.

Having previously owned a OnePlus 3, I was so disappointed in OnePlus going with a notch for the 6, but was almost sold on the teardrop notch of the 6T. And then the Note9 came out. It was as if my prayers had been answered, so to speak :)) I can't attest to the build quality of the S10 series, as I have not tried it, but I'm even more conflicted about the punch hole than I was about the notch. Sure, it is less "wasted" space... but it isn't symmetrical, ffs, and the OCD in me is going crazy :)) Thankfully I upgrade every 2 years, so I have 1.5 years to go before I buy a new phone, in which so many things could happen. The short list includes under display cameras (bye bye notch/punch hole), foldable tech reaching maturity, 5G maturing as well, with decent coverage, maybe even new battery tech. For the moment, the Note9 is more than enough for my needs.

Finally got my paws on these twins, I left disappointed. The build quality is going back to S5/S6 days. That aluminum frame felt like plastic. Me thinks the Chinese smartphone vendors are making these Samsung twins look bad. I guess Samsung thinks everyone will throw it in a case and not worry. Will stick to the Note series for now.

SD855 from Qualcomm would cost same money regardless the brand and device.
Same goes for ram or disk space.
Camera wont make much difference either.
Samsung is expensive only due to screen.

                        What the problem with Samsung???

talha5007, 02 Mar 2019never gonna happen, its competition to sell expensive price... moreAvoiding it? That's wrong indeed, in fact many out there will be more willing to invest their money in iPHONEs as compared to ANDROID smartphones if Apple were to lower the prices, clearly because it's more superior than other brands, especially their chipset. With their prices sky high as compared to current ANDROID smartphones, you're getting little if not nothing when switching from the best ANDROID smartphone to Apple, making ANDROID smartphones the more appealing option to get, without sacrificing much on the essentials. This price in return brings bad sales results as compared to the last quarter. Remember when Apple released their smartphones last year? They cost more than their predecessors even though they only provided a little bit of an upgrade, with some sacrifice like a fast charger and especially the dongle. This in return brought bad sales results, like what I said. Besides, is it worth it to buy a smartphone this expensive, when u can buy a gaming laptop (yep, the iPHONE XS MAX's price can get u a gaming laptop with a GTX 1060, using a full-fledged Windows 10 in 64-bit) that serves u more with its power and other aspects of it? U only answered half of the topic on whether Apple should lower the prices of their smartphones, I've answered the remaining half of it, so what are u gonna say now?

Lots of these tech are built on top of the existing innovations and known solutions (which are periodically discounted) PCB design, processors are pretty much becoming standard process(in iPhones) major effort goes in hardware and software integration which is again more or less a nailed process(considering the number of iterations of went through). Not sure if ever increasing price justified....almost 100% margins will only make them greedy!! People are buying tech and just throwing it after few years. Software support & warranty is assured only for one year in most of the places.

SAMSUNG S10+ selling price is 925 Dollar (8GB RAM + 128GB ROM) in Malaysia.

After add the marketing cost and other software cost, total cost is assumed to be 525 Dollar, SAMSUNG will earn profit of 400 Dollar per S10+ sold.
