Counterclockwise: periscope cameras are old news, optical zoom dates back to 2004

17 March 2019
And back then phones could zoom in with just a single camera - no need for 2, 3, 4, 5 cameras!

Finally an article which clearly says that jumping from fixed focal length lens to a fixed focal length lens is NOT zooming. It's just two fixed focal length lenses. Zooming is when you can go from, for example, 15 mm, through 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, etc. to, for example, 50 mm. THAT is zooming.

Kingslayer, 17 Mar 2019Nokia was truly ahead of the game in the previous decade. T... moreAbsolutely, the N93 was well ahead of its time, almost too advanced, the only problem was it had little RAM to allow you to fully exploit its capabilities, luckily Nokia fixed that with later devices, doubling the RAM in the N95-8GB, N82 and E90, as well as giving the standard N95 a feature known as Demand Paging to allow it to use less RAM of its 64MB, I don't believe the N93 got that update though.

I remember the Nokia N93 being not just an amazing Camcorder phone but also a beastly smartphone, thanks to the TI OMAP2420 SoC, with its incredible Graphics prowess for a mobile at the time. This was the same chip that would go on to make the Nokia N95, N95-8GB, N82, and E90 Communicator devices amazing, albeit they got more RAM on top of the awesome chip. Good times.

I believe that with time, PureView will be matured enough to offer lossless zoom capability like old days with slim profile and high dynamic range + proper bokeh of today's PureView

Nokia was truly ahead of the game in the previous decade. The N93 was so cool.
