Its not going to be a two day device anyway unless you use it only for phonecalls and messaging. Same applies to S10, P20, Mate Pro, etc. all of these devices have one day usage as soon as you introduce multimedia and gaming.

I can easily get more screen on time by reducing the screen brightness. Not sure much of of a hit 4K resolution has on battery life though.

They worship Huawei and praise them, but no one brings up their false advertising, but they bash Sony for the smallest of things. When you think about it, it's really pathetic.

Whackcar, 22 Mar 2019At this point it's pretty much certain. Battery life won't ... moreWe'll see. It HAS the 855, which is much more battery efficient than the 845. And they've prob made improvements on the battery life tech (Smart Stamina & Battery Care) as well. So anything's possible.
If it gets AT LEAST like an 85 hours or better here on GSM Arena for battery life, I'll be happy. Hopefully in the 90s though (XZ3 was 90).

Battery life won't ... moreAll that is conjecture on your part, my S10+ has a 4,100 mAh battery and by the end of the day, I have less battery life left than I had on my Pixel 3XL. Battery optimisation is far more important than battery size. If they have the optimisation right, Sony has historically been brilliant in that respect, no reason why the battery size should be an issue. The caveat is should they have the optimisation right!

Screen has 98.6 cm2. Less area than 6.0" 16:9 of XA Ultra.
S9+ screen has 98.3cm2. It has 3500mAh.
Endurance must not be that different.

At this point it's pretty much certain. Battery life won't be good on this phone. It's a large phone. Sony should've managed to put a 4000 mAh+ battery on it to go along with the 4K display.
I guess Sony needs a few more generations to fix their phones.

But, you do have to remember tho in the first place. 2K phones nowadays are stapled and common around the flagship territory nowadays, so people won't consider it too much if I'm not wrong. That couldn't be said the same for 4K tho, as only Sony who has been the front-player of it all the time, and people would consider it, especially slider to choose between resolutions, as 4K is way crispier than both FHD and QHD, and took battery a lot. It's all about paradox and differentiation between it.
