I remember some Chinese phones came out with this concept "Interpolation". Spec wise they are 8 MP but after the processing or something they will give 13 MP or 12 MP shots.

Then it turned out that the 50mp images were just super sampled from the 13mp sensor. I am guessing this is something similar to that, considering Lenovo doesn't produce their own sensors while Sony and Samsung doesn't have anything like that among their line up.

Besides, they have been bragging about HyperVision, which might just be what they're calling this 100MP cam.
I'm not saying I fully trust them, but i think they have the capability to pull this off, in particular due to the fact that Qualcomm had mentioned that 100MP phones are coming.
Let's wait and see how things turn out.

and i thought we're beyond the megapissing contest? hasn't it been established yet that big resolution is required by physics to be with equally big sensor and equally long ffd, which are not possible with our ever thinning smartphones? unless it is computational photography again at work here, which spells out fakery. oh, i get it- lenovo = lienovo.
