Wireless dream just got disconnected after almost 2 years. Liar company that cannot deliver. There you go. Apple cannot innovate. The next news you will see they will buy a wireless charging company or something and 'innovatively' come out with Airpower. When does Apple ever invent anything? They just buy and own things and claimed it invented by them.

Kangal, 29 Mar 2019The connectivity portion (of showing %), is not easy, but i... moreit was the charging pad itself- not having enough space for the induction coils was the issue. there was a discussion about this in a tech blog site (i forgot the name but i'll look for it again). each device of course will have to be provided its own induction coil; the design is simply too small for three induction coils to be laid out next to each other as there cannot be an overlap between them. the trouble with wireless charging is that the coils on both the charging mat and the device have to be properly aligned for it to work, and each single coil on the mat can only charge one device at a time. with apple's design there needs to be total of 3 induction coils laid out next to each other. it doesnt have to be the same sizes but they can never overlap, which would make the design for small footprint unuseable- it has to be bigger.

Btw samsung makes everything by it's own. Does the design and architecture or the tech and everything. Basically make TV's and washing machines and freezers and what ever you think of by there own. Apple does what exactly by there own ? Copy design only and it's not like they made any of the CPU's they so called designed as it was existing technology and they just set parts together. They all use the same cores but just tweak them a bit and thats about it.
Apple only innovation was to start patent war with silly things like rounded corners or a home button under screen. Apple didnt invent touchscreen phones even as they were in the market before them. Jobs just made genius commercials that made it popular and thats about it. And they copied the shape of the phone too as rectangular box and then sue Samsung that made phones decades before Apple even had idea to make them.

The connectivity portion (of showing %), is not easy, but its definitely not difficult.
The charging pad itself is not difficult.
The only excuse that actually makes sense is if the Wireless Charging was too slow.
And at 10W's its pretty slow, so people were expecting something proprietary of better.
If that is the justification, then I am sympathetic to Apple's decision here.
....and somehow I have a feeling that is not the justification for cancelling the device.

It's when you cant copy from others, then apple cant make it by there own.
Need to have something in the market that have it working, so it will be easy to copy for them. Thats how they roll or at least thats how it looks like they roll from a spectators view.
