Well despite them failing big in dxo point game, they did mention how great colors are (unlike P30), so with aperture f1.6, bigger pixels, OIS, up to 30 secs exposure and double alpha processing, it should wipe the floor with other flagships if it's simple shooting modes. HDR and super low light performance which is hard to guess for unfinished product, should still be at least better than before.
All phones struggle to deliver true colors, so how is important to you to capture what you see in the same colors... I would say they will need that workforce back soon.

But even if Sony stopped producing mobile phones, if selling sensors is profitable they would continue to manufacture them. It's business. They do not do it well designing phones and with a bad strategy. But they do manufacture sensors that are chosen by many. What is profitable prospers, what gives losses continuously and can not be made profitable ends and liquidates.

What's the problem with bezels? Notch or hole is far worse. Bezeless makes all phones look the same and boring so makers started using those crazy colours on the back to stand out. A disposable phone from China looks almost the same as any premium-brand phone. This just can't be right...

Sony Mobile never listen to the people who is really buying Sony Xperias and now they are going down under.
Insanely overpriced Xperia never attract new customers. The decision making group inside Sony is to be blame for making a lame final decision. Now they are shifting their errors consequences to their hardworking workforces who is perhaps has working for Sony more than 20 years.
Now, Samsung and Huawei have "forced" me to buy from them as they are producing what we really want, although not entirely.
Every corner along the street, coffee shops, malls and workplace, Huawei ringtone loudly ringing and Samsung sight is clear crystal significance and not an alien to see, a reminiscence of Nokia during its heyday. But Xperia? Nowhere to be seen. It is now a rare artifact, bought only by a well informed users only.
Farewell Sony and bon voyage to board your ship silently by packing out from South East Asia. Thank you for the past, Xperia.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Headphones, TVs, Hi-Fi's, games consoles, mirrorless & compact cameras, I can go on. While you're free to believe whatever you want about Sony's mobile phones, saying their useless in everything is arrogant at the least. They're one of, if not THE, most diversified companies in the world - from electronics to funding to music/movie industry.

I was thinking going Apple but their phone designs have become a bit unappealing to me over the years, their iPads and other products still look great though. I might go for LG mostly because of the whole Quad DAC thing, although they also look similar to all the other phones in the market... Maybe... Sharp?

at this point you could say Sony are pretty much useless in both phones and other techs. Nobody really buy their overpriced stuff. They should start realizing that the world has moved on with chinese brands or mostly made these days. you cannot come up with crap every year and expect people to pay that same premium price again like those days. Apparently they're still living in the 90's. Should start considering teaming up with HTC , Blackberry or something. Sony's glamorous years were with Ericsson anyway.
