I don't mind if they were to either stay like this or change their user interface for the better really, I'm just going with the flow to be honest, and this applies to any other brand if I'm using them. But of course, other's opinions may vary

When they were sony ericsson they always packed their updates with many many new features and new user interface.
In symbian era, they also creatively used their own ui, Just like what samsung/huawei do today.

The Other brands take longer time to deliver update. But they always include new ui, new icons, and new features in the updates.

Sonyfans always say it sinc... moreBricked devices are caused by system failure during the upgrade process, and even with that in mind, Sony took care of the issue very quickly and created an immediate solution to those that were affected by the error. Nothing is perfect anyway, so things like these are expected to be had in the long run.
When we talk about how the whole Sony software works on Xperias, they are by far the most stable on Android platform, and I assure this, with myself having used a low end Xperia L phone that's virtually as smooth as a flagship phone when it comes to navigation and loading times.

Anonymous, 03 Apr 2019They've always been bricks, a big ones...At least they provide updates, either software upgrade or monthly security patches tho. Not all OEMs can provide updates, either monthly or even its lifetime span... Better have a not-good-looking phone but being up-to-date than a stylish-phone but rarely given-an-update.

I am so afraid to install it i read in sony forums some users complain about the camera app and video recroding.

I will have to probably wait a couple of weeks for this update in Slovenia. I already tried in Xperia Companion, but no update in sight.

I received the update yesterday. It was a little over 900 Mb in size. So far it's working great for me. The overall performance is smoother. The UI is more intuitive and the device seems more responsive. The update does not really bring anything groundbreaking but it is nonetheless a great one. I read that some users are noticing weaker battery performance after the update but I have to say that I am noticing quite the opposite. The battery performance actually improved as I have noticed a decrease in battery drain both while the device is idle and in use. The camera app is much better and faster both to launch and to snap picture. A very welcomed improvement is the reduced system files size. While on Oreo , the system files took over 11 GB of storage but now the system files only occupy 8.4 GB. While it's only been a day for me experiencing with the update, I strongly recommend it as I think it really brings the best out of the excellent hardware.
